Spraying Rig in Truck

There are several important sprayer parts that would need replacing over time due to general wear and tear. Though it may not seem such parts are that crucial when compared to the entire spraying rig system, just one of these parts becoming faulty can compromise the quality of spray applications. Here are the parts we suggest keeping spares on hand for and replacing periodically.

Skid Sprayer Inline Strainer - This is installed on your spray rig just before the pump. It is designed to filter out any debris that may accumulate in the tank or in your hose. If the screen inside the strainer has any tears or the gasket has been damaged, they would need to be replaced.

Pressure Gauge -  Pressure gauges are designed to be installed on the downside of your spraying rig pump and is meant to measure the spray pressure that is being delivered out from the sprayer. If your pressure gauge stops working or there are cracks in the view window, a replacement is necessary.

Lovejoy Coupler - The Lovejoy Coupler is a part that connects the spray rig engine to the pump. It contains a coupler for the pump, a coupler for the engine and a black insert that goes between the two couplers and acts as a cushion as the shaft turns.

Pressure Relief Valve - The relief valve allows you to increase or decrease pressure being delivered from your spray gun. The excess pressure that goes through the relief valve goes back to the tank for agitation. This is used for spray rigs that feature pumps that do not have a pressure regulator.

Connection Fittings -  You have a choice of 3/8 and 1/2 male plugs to use with quick connect gun fittings and 3/8 or 1/2 hose barbs fittings. The quick-connect part makes it convenient to switch between different types of spray applicators. You push it onto the receiving end of your spray gun. If it has worn or been damaged, your gun may experience leaks and a lack of spray pressure.

Push-Pull Starter - On electric spray rigs, a push-pull type switch is installed on the frame of the hose reel and allows you to power on and power off the rig with ease. When this part becomes faulty, your spray rig won't be able to start.

Inspection and Maintenance

Spraying Rig

It is crucial to take time out in between spray applications to check if all your skid sprayer parts and components are working properly. Often, these parts just need periodic cleaning to remove debris accumulation. While skid sprayer parts are durable and built, they can wear and tear over time and diminish in quality, especially if you use the skid sprayer often and for long stretches of time.

By keeping a regular maintenance schedule for your skid sprayer, it will last you for years without any major hiccups or repairs.
