It can be embarrassing to see fungal disease on your lawn such as pythium blight. Usually, fungal growth is an indicator of lack of proper lawn care from the lawn owner but even if you do your due diligence in caring for your lawn, fungi may still rear its ugly head in your yard. This is when a fungicide may be needed to for the purpose of eliminating the fungus and to make sure it doesn’t spread further. A fantastic active ingredient which has proven to control fungal diseases is fosetyl.

On this page we will give you some background of this fungicide active ingredient and explain how it works so well to eliminate fungus and disease. Here you can also shop the fungicide products we have in stock which contain fosetyl.

Fosetyl-aluminum is a systemic fungicide active ingredient used in a number of different fungicide products. Fosetyl is rapidly absorbed through the plant leaves or roots with translocation both up and down inside the plant. It provides effective control against Phytophthora diseases in particular where most contact fungicides are often less effective. Disease infections in trunks and roots can now be prevented by foliar application via the downward systemic action of the product.

First registered to the EPA in 1966, chlorothalonil is used prominently for agricultural use and is regarded as the third most used fungicide in the US, behind only sulfur and copper. The active ingredient comes in a variety of different formulations such as a dust, dry or water-soluble grains, a wettable powder, a liquid spray, a fog, and a dip. It may be applied by hand, by ground sprayer, or by aircraft.

The mode of action of Fosetyl is that its a systemic fungicide that inhibits spore germination and penetration of pathogen into the plant by blocking its mycelial growth and spore production. Also enhances the plant's own natural defense system against diseases. The mode of action is multi-site.
