About Precision Laboratories
Precision Laboratories, founded in 1962 by Jim Wohlner in Waukegan, Illinois, began as a private-label distributor of maintenance chemicals. Over six decades, it has evolved into a leading developer of specialized chemistries adjuvants, surfactants, seed enhancers, foliar nutrition, and irrigation aids serving agriculture, turf, soil, and water markets. North American expansion included key milestones: acquisition of AmChem (1976), entry into turf (1986), development of innovations like Incide‑Out tank cleaner (1989), Drift‑controlling Border (1999), Mix Tank App (2011), and a growing portfolio of seed‑applied and water‑management technologies through the 2010s–2020s.
In 2013, Precision Labs joined Italy’s Lamberti Group via a joint venture, increasing vertical integration. In 2023–2024, they consolidated operations into a 270,000 sq. ft. facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin, refocusing on tank mix adjuvants, irrigation, nutrient management, and seed-applied technologies, while the turf business merged into Aquatrols.
