What is Oryzalin?

Oryzalin is a selective, pre-emergent herbicide used to control annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It can also control weeds on residential and commercial lawns, woody shrubs, and vines in grapes, berries, and orchard crops, including fruits and nuts. 

In its original form, Oryzalin is a bright yellowish-orange powder sold in various formulations, such as granular, wettable powder, water-dispersible granules, emulsifiable concentrate, flowable concentrate, and liquid.

Oryzalin herbicides work by disrupting plant microtubules, which are crucial building blocks of plants. They halt the growth of plant cells so that weeds cannot develop as usual.

Do not use Oryzalin when your target weed has already sprouted from the soil. Instead, use a post-emergent for control.
