Drift Control Agents

Drift control agents are adjuvants that help to reduce the proportion of small droplets which are prone to drifting off of a plant and landing onto other plants or areas not meant to be treated.

Drift control agents are usually mixed into herbicide formulations for the purposes of modifying the spray solution viscosity and reduces the likelihood of droplets prone to drift. This also saves money by reducing herbicide waste and is helpful to the environment.

Drift control agents are very easy to apply. Simply mix the product with a herbicide of choice in a sprayer and apply it to the intended treatment area. Some drift control agents are already pre-mixed in herbicide products for convenience.

If you need help selecting the right adjuvant for your herbicide application or would like more information on how to modify a pesticide properly, our experienced pest control specialists will be more than happy to help you.

How to Use Drift Control Agents

Step 1: Mix Herbicide Concentrate in Spray Tank

Spraying Rig In Truck

Follow the directions carefully on the label for proper mixing instructions and application rates and dilute your herbicide or pesticide concentrate accordingly.

When using a gallon sprayer, agitate well to ensure the product is properly mixed. For Professional Spray Rigs, run the agitation for the sprayer tank during the mixing process.

Step 2: Mix drift control agent with the diluted Pesticide concentrate.

Once your pesticide is well mixed, add the drift control agent to the spray mixture. Again, paying attention to the label is key.

Alligare Drift Control Adjuvant recommends the rate of 1 to 4 oz. per 100 gallons of water. Add the right amount of water to the mixture and agitate in the spraying tank until it is well mixed.

Continue to agitate mix tank for at least 3 minutes before spraying.

Step 3: Apply the Mixture To Target Area
