Mosquito Misting System Replacement Parts

Like with any helpful piece of equipment, there’s eventually going to come a point in time where you need to replace a part due to forces outside of your control. The same is the case with Mosquito Misting Systems; unexpected weather, accidents or just general wear and tear over time will cause even a high-quality product like a Mosquito Misting System to require a part that needs replacing.

From our longtime experience of selling Mosquito Misting Systems, we gained an understanding that our customers desire to expand or upgrade their units over time and it isn’t always easy to get the products and information needed. Our wide variety of replacement parts allows misting system owners much more freedom to customize the unit, whether adding risers, more nozzles, or a wind sensor.

Along with carrying these high-quality replacement parts, we also offer instruction manuals, online how-to guides, installation recommendations via phone and repairs and winterizing instructions in PDF format directly on our website at your convenience.

Misting in action

Solutions Pest and Lawn carries MistAway and Coastal Mister system kits, tanks, tankless units, nozzles, fitting tools, maintenance items, riser components, clamps & tubing, replacement parts and insecticides.

When it comes to what part you need to replace, this depends on how your mosquito misting system is functioning or failing to function. For example, if you're experiencing a leak in your misting line, you may need replacement tubing.

If your misting system nozzles are not spraying a mist properly, you may need replacement filters or to replace the nozzle entirely. If your Automatic Misting System is not operating or responding to commands, you may need to replace the Controller or the Remote transmitter.

Diagnosing the issue and pinpointing the problem is key to making a decision in figuring out what part is needed. As always, if you need assistance in finding a part or are not sure what you need, our experienced experts will be happy to assist you in person at our stores, on the phone, via email or live chat.

Installation Guide

Misting System image

Once you have pinpointed the issue with your Mosquito Misting System and figured out what part you need and have ordered it. The next step is installation. Depending on the part, installation can be quick and easy or it may take some time and will require the use of tools.

Most of our Mosquito Misting System parts come with instructions for installation, but in cases where they don't, you can either check the product page for general directions for installation or find the instructions on the manufacturer's website where they may provide more detailed instructions. Below we will provide you the most general formula for replacing parts for Mosquito Misting Systems.

Step 1: Disassemble

Depending on the part, you will have to open up the Mosquito Misting System to get to the faulty part and remove it. Carefully disassemble your misting system until you get to the part needing replacement, and then unscrew or remove the part. Make sure if there are any screws, that you keep them in a safe place so that you don't lose them.

If the replacement part is on the misting line or circuit itself, you would just need to locate the faulty part and remove it from the circuit setup.

Step 2: Install the New Part

Following the more detailed directions for installation, insert the new part where it is meant to be and secure it with clamps, screws to keep the part in place and functioning.

Step 3: Reassemble the Misting System

Once you have installed the part, put the misting system back together. This could be simple and quick or may take a little longer depending on the part replaced and how much you needed to disassemble the misting system.

Step 4: Program and Test

After everything is put back together on your misting system, use the system control box to program the unit as desired and run a test misting session to ensure that the part replaced is working properly and the mosquito misting system is functioning normally.

Inspection and Maintenance

It is recommended that you thoroughly inspect your mosquito misting system annually to ensure that the parts are in working order. The best time to inspect your unit is when the unit is empty or before a refill of mosquito concentrate is needed.

Main Unit Inspection

Check the main unit for any algae or debris that may have built up in the tank. If any are present, remove or clean them out with some water and a brush if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the uptake line. Also, make sure that the electrical components are working well, such as the transmitter, the remote and the controller.

Tubing Circuit Inspection

Tubing

To inspect the misting line for leaks, run water (with no pesticide) through the system and observe the circuit carefully while the unit is in operation. If any leaks or sudden drops in pressure are spotted, determine if the tubing section is damaged or if the leak is due to a loose connection. If you find an issue, replace the tubing or nozzle to repair the circuit.

Nozzle Inspection

Nozzle inspection

Nozzle filters and tips are recommended to be replaced annually. Remove each nozzle and unscrew the spray head. Each should be able to be removed by hand, but if necessary use pliers. Examine the tips for blockages or hard water build up. Blockages can be cleared with a small brush and the tips can be soaked in a hard water remover to clear build up if needed.

To replace the filters, take a straightened paperclip or a similar tool and insert it through the tip end to push the spring and filter out. Reinsert the spring and a new filter and push into place with the same tool you used to remove the old filter. Once this is done, simply screw the nozzle tips back on and put the nozzles back in the tubing circuit where they were before. We carry replacement nozzles both individually and in packs as well as replacement filters in packs of 100, if needed.

Parts

No matter the brand of your misting system, most of the components are the same. Generally, a misting system consists of a pump, a system control box, and a motor, as well as tubing, risers, and nozzles. Here are the general items that may need replacing on your selected misting system.

Main Unit

Mosquito Misting

  • Reservoir: The reservoir houses your preferred insecticide product. When mixing a new batch of product, fill the reservoir half full with water before adding the product to ensure a uniform mixture.
  • Pump: The pump is the beating heart of your mosquito misting system. It moves the pesticide from the reservoir to the nozzles for dispersion.
  • System Control Box: The system control box controls when your insecticide product is released. It comes with a remote control unit that can be used to program a set schedule or provide a quick one-time burst of product with the push of a button.
  • Motor: The motor provides the energy the pump needs to move your insecticide product to the nozzles for dispersion.

Tubing & Risers

Risers

The tubing carries your insecticide product from the reservoir to the nozzles for dispersion. If additional tubing is required, we offer tubing in three colors: black, white, and tan. We recommend black to prevent molding in the tube.

Risers are an optional product that allows a nozzle to be placed away from a structure. If you want to place a nozzle in the middle of a flowerbed or throughout a garden walk, risers are an ideal option.

Nozzles

Misting nozzles

These are essential parts needed to disperse your misting product to the air to treat mosquitoes and other flying pests. The number and placement of nozzles you need will vary on the size of the area you wish to mist and the coverage you would like. We offer a variety of nozzles for every possible scenario. In general, 30 nozzles is the standard amount for the average residential yard.
