Tank Cleaners

A tank cleaner is a cleaning solution that is primarily used to clean spraying equipment and parts, clearing them of chemical residue.

Tank cleaners contain chemicals that break down chemical residues and disinfect a tank sprayer so nothing is left behind. They function much like dishwasher cleaners or detergents, but they are used for your spraying equipment.

Using a professional tank cleaner is an important part of DIY pest control because you never want to mix chemicals--both for safety reasons and chemical effectiveness. Cleaning your sprayer regularly and properly will keep your equipment in working condition and extend its longevity, meaning it could last you for years.

Tank cleaners are very easy to use and work a lot like when you wash the dishes. You soak your cleaner in the product, get all the hard stuff, and then rinse it well, and that’s it!

How to Use Tank Cleaners

Step 1: Empty The Tank

Drain any remaining pesticide from the tank following disposal regulations.

Rinse the tank with clean water and spray it through the nozzles.

Step 2: Add the Tank Cleaning Solution

Add the recommended amount of tank cleaning solution as stated in your product label instructions.

If you decide to use Blazer Spray Tank Cleaner with 100 to 300 gallon tanks, use 16 oz. of product with 50 gallons of water.

Close the boom valve, then add 50 gallons of water to the tank, turn on agitation, and add the proper amount of Blazer Spray Tank Cleaner.

Open the Bypass Valve to circulate the solution through the valves, hoses, and pumps. Use a hand sprayer to wash the inside and cover of the tank.

Once the entire unit has been cleaned, open the boom valve and empty the tank by spraying the solution through the boom and nozzles.

Repeat with just water until all the pink color indicator is gone.

A second water rinse is recommended when changing chemicals to lessen the chances of contamination.
