Pac-Low Plant Growth Regulator
Pac-Low Plant Growth Regulator
Pac-Low, manufactured by Quali-Pro, is a professional and easy to use plant growth regulator (PGR) used to slow down vegetative growth on non-residential turfgrass for up to 2 months.
This suspended concentrate product works systemically, being absorbed through the foliage. Once applied, this effective product ensures your grass grows uniformly and slowly for up 8 weeks, which also helps reduce the frequency of mowing. Pac-Low will even improve and extend fertilizer performance for up to 12 weeks and reduces scalping when mowing.
Pac-Low PGR is a long-lasting plant growth regulator that improves playability on turfgrasses because of greater turf density after application and greater control of turf growth.
Tools Needed
To use Pac-Low, you will need to mix and distribute the product in a sprayer that will output large volumes of water, such as a spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Pac-Low to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Do this by measuring the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For warm-seasoned turfgrasses with sandy soils use 32 fl. oz. of Pac-Low with 43.5 gallons of water per acre. Warm-seasoned turfgrasses with clay soils will use 48 fl. oz. of product with 43.5 gallons of water per acre. On cool-seasoned grasses (except putting greens), apply 16 to 32 fl. oz. of product per 43.5 gallons of water per acre. For bentgrass putting greens, use 6.4 to 16 fl. oz. of product 43.5 gallons of water per acre. For over-seeded Bermuda grass, apply 6.4 to 10 fl. oz. of product per 43.5 gallons of water per acre. Do not apply more than 4 quarts per acre per year.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Pac-Low, then pour remaining half of water. Close the sprayer tank lid and shake until solution is evenly mixed.
- Step 3: Apply the Pac-Low solution uniformly over the turf area. For best results, water in the product with at least 0.25 inches of water within 24 hours after application.
Where to Use
Pac-Low can only be used on non-residential turfgrasses like St. Augustine grass and Kentucky bluegrass/perennial rye-grass turf areas, as well as established bent grass, hybrid Bermuda grass and perennial rye-grass tees, fairways and roughs. Pac-Low can be used on turf-grass in the following areas: golf courses, (tees, fairways, greens and rough), athletic fields, commercial and industrial areas, parks, and boulevards.
When to Use
Use Pac-Low PGR for the suppression of warm-season grasses when turf is actively growing and has left dormancy. For cool-season grasses, apply Pac-Low in spring after green-up and the turf has been mowed once or twice. Apply at least 1 month before the onset of high air temperatures, and in late summer and early fall, apply at least 1 month before first frost.
Safety Information
Pac-Low is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep pets and children clear off the treated area until the product has dried.
Special Considerations
Pac-Low PGR cannot be used on residential turf areas/lawns or ornamental vegetation. Take care when applying to athletic fields under heavy traffic where maximum growth of grass is desired.
