How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Talstar you will need by first measuring the size of the treatment area. You can do this by measuring the length and width of your treatment area in feet, and then multiplying those numbers together (length x width = square footage). Talstar can be applied between 1.15 lbs to 4.6 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft., depending on the pest you wish to treat. For example, if you treat armyworms and measure a 2,500 sq. ft. lawn, you would need 2.88 lbs of Talstar to cover the area.
- Step 2: Pour the required amount of Talstar Granules into the spreader and set the settings according to the label, which will be determined by the type of spreader equipment used.
- Step 3: When using a push spreader, walk steadily, ensuring the granules are dispersed evenly in targeted areas. You may have to do two perpendicular passes to get even coverage. Afterward, water the soil about half an inch unless rain is forecast.
- Step 4: Reapply every 2 to 4 months, and do not apply more than 100 pounds per acre.
