Ant-Trax Ant Bait

Ant-Trax Ant Bait is a ready-to-use insecticide gel bait made with the active ingredient imidacloprid and an attractant that controls different species of ants. Ants are lured to the bait, which they take back to the colony, where it will eventually kill the other ants. Ant-Trax Ant Bait is an easy, inexpensive way to eliminate pesky ants.

Ant-Trax Ant Bait, manufactured by Solutions Pest & Lawn, is an effective sweet ant gel bait that controls multiple ant species, such as Argentine ants, Pharaoh ants, and little black ants.

This ant gel bait is made with an attractant and the insecticide imidacloprid 0.01%. This insecticide mimics nicotine and is highly toxic to ants, interfering with their nervous systems.

It does not provide an instant kill. Instead, it takes advantage of the ants' "food exchange," leaving enough time for foraging ants to return to the colony with the poison ant bait and share it with the queen and other colony members. This cascades, causing numerous ants to die within a few hours.

Ant-Trax Ant Bait can be applied as a spot or crack and crevice treatment in different areas inside and outside homes or other structures. It comes in a bait injector tube that makes applying the bait simple. A little goes a long way, so it's also economical.

Ant-Trax was the preferred bait when tested against other leading ant gel baits due to its unique bait matrix composition, making it irresistible to most ant species.

Tools Needed

This ant bait is ready to use and requires no additional tools. It includes the bait reservoir, a plunger, and an applicator tip.

You could benefit from using index cards to apply the bait so that the cleanup of the bait is easier.

How to Use

Ant-Trax Bait Application

  • Step 1: Locate ant trails or find where they are coming from, and then clean and sanitize all areas to be treated. Clean up and remove all secondary food and water sources, like crumbs, pet food, or water bowls. Sweep and vacuum the floors, then wipe down surfaces with warm water to remove any other food debris. For best control, ants must have no alternative food or water sources available. Avoid using cleaners or detergents, as they deter ants from the bait.
  • Step 2: Unscrew the reservoir cap of the Ant-Trax syringe applicator and replace it with the applicator tip.
  • Step 3: Push the gel through the syringe and apply Ant-Trax in small pea-size drops using the plunger. Apply 4 drops or 0.006 oz per square yard of treatment area. Focus on areas where you have seen foraging activity and common entry points, like along baseboards, under sinks and countertops, around water pipes, along the kitchen backsplash, near window or door crevices, or in voids where ants may be harboring. Application in a food or feed handling area should only be limited to crack and crevice treatment.
  • Step 4: Once the Ant-Trax Ant Bait is set, leave it alone. For the best control, do not disturb any ants feeding on the bait. Do not spray any ant trails with pesticides, and do not stomp on foraging ants. This will disrupt ant pheromones and render your bait ineffective.

Where to Use

Ant-Trax Ant Bait can be used in and around residential, commercial, and industrial structures, including warehouses, motels, hotels, apartment buildings, schools, homes, office buildings, aircraft, ships, and trains. It may also be used in food or feed-handling establishments, but it may not be applied to surfaces where food or feed is handled or prepared.

Do not apply this product where insecticides have recently been sprayed, and use only in areas that are not easily accessible to children or pets.

When to Use

Ant-Trax Ant Bait can be used as often as needed when ant activity has been spotted. Since this product contains attractants, it is most effective in treating active infestations and should not be used for preventative control.

Ant-Trax Ant Bait placements are effective until dry, and it is recommended to check your placements every 2 weeks to replenish or to be cleaned if dry.

Safety Information

Ant-Trax Ant Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.

Special Considerations

Using repellent insecticides in conjunction with Ant-Trax Ant Bait will make the bait less appealing, causing the ants to avoid it, making it less effective. The ants must be left alone to carry the bait back to their colony to eliminate the others.

When applying bait gel insecticides, it is often more effective to apply several pea-size drop applications rather than fewer large ones. Numerous smaller bait placements provide more opportunities for ants to feed on the bait than fewer large placements.

Amazing
This product works great! My husband and I have been dealing with pharaoh ants everyday! No matter of it was one crumb, we would have the whole village show up. After a couple weeks of this, even the first day we noticed less ants. It’s been a month or so and we barely see any ants. This is your beast buy! Don’t delay in getting this product! I highly recommend!
ant trax
my last try before hiring an exterminator. Ant Trax did the job. I use a few of their product and have it under control. (as far as that goes)
what I like is the ants stop roaming the house and gather at the point of application...not long after that, the activity has stopped.
no cons with the product, just use common sense and safety gear
It works!!
I had little black ants coming in around the window to our kitchen. Put some Ant-Trax in the corners and in the window threshold and the ants went straight to it! They have been feeding on it like crazy. Very happy with this product and will continue to use it!

Worked well
I baited a trail of Acrobat ants, and they were immediately attracted to the bait. It took a while, but they are now all but gone-just a few stragglers. Very happy with the results and I would definitely purchase again. Just need to be patient- don’t expect immediate results

Amazing
This was the third ant bait I had tried to get rid of pharoah ants in my kitchen and bathroom (same colony I believe). I had tried Maggies Farm (borax) liquid bait and Raid ant bait (avermectin bi) and the ants completely ignored it. The Ant-Trax, on the other hand, was just what they were looking for. The never found the bait in the kitchen but man did they find it in the bathroom. Within a few hours there were hundreds of them at the buffet. It has been 48 hours and the number of ants at the bait has dropped to less than three and overall ant sightings are dropping quickly. The actual pesticide is secondary to whether the ants are attracted to the bait.
Ants seem to love the stuff.
Requires clean up later as the bait can drip if placed on a vertical surface.

Does Not Work on Pharoah Ants
It's easy to use but the directions recommend using latex gloves so it would seem to be toxic to humans or pets. Bought this to eliminate Pharoah ants but they avoided it like the plague. It may be good for some ants, but not for these.

  1. Q:How safe is it around people?
    11/26/23
A:If you mean, is the gel product in the small narrow clear plastic case going to leak out or spill out to possibly be invested, NO. The product in this small container will fit most anywhere you place it and will catch more ants than you will believe. Best product. It's like the ants come trick or treat, take the candy, offer to their hugh family nest and die off. Il
