Made with the active ingredient chlorpyrifos 20.0%, this organophosate product will slowly release to control agricultural soil-borne insects. Once these pest come into contact with this products active ingredient they will start to convulse, respiratory system becomes paralyzed, and eventual death.
Pyrofos 20 is ideal for general broad-spectrum insect control through spot application, crack and crevice treatment, and perimeter treatments.
Tools Needed
To apply Pyrofos 20, you will need to use a compressed air backpack sprayer or power spray equipment. For spot applications, we recommend using a handheld pump sprayer for complete control to avoid drift.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Pyrofos 20 to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width in feet and multiply (length X width = square footage). For light infestations, use 1.5 oz. of Pyrofos 20 per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Residual control of heavy infestations will use 3.0 oz. of product per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. When used as a spot treatment, do not exceed 2 sq. ft. per individual spot. Refer to the label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: Shake Pyrofos 20 container before using. First, add half the amount of water to the spray tank, pour in the appropriate amount of Pyrofos 20, then add the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and agitate until solution is thoroughly mixed. Agitate the sprayer frequently during spray applications.
- Step 3: Adjust the spray nozzle to produce a fine narrow mist for uniform spot application, crack and crevice treatment, or injection into voids where insects may hiding. To prevent infestations of buildings, treat band of soil at 6 to 10 ft. wide around and adjacent to the building. Also treat the buildings foundation at a height of 2 to 3 ft. Wait for 7 days before reapplying product.
