Oxadiazon SC
12/14/25
This product is a Restricted Use Product (RUP) and requires a Certified Applicator's License to purchase.
Oxadiazon SC is manufactured by Quali-Pro and is a pre-emergent herbicide for control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds on commercial landscapes and turfs and can also control a wide variety of woodsy ornamental vines shrubs, and trees.
The product's active ingredient of Oxadiazon controls weeds by killing the young weed seedlings as they come in contact with the herbicide during the time they are germinating so they never sprout. To get the best results, water as soon as possible after application.
Tools Needed
To apply Oxadiazon SC a professional skid sprayer, with a broadcast boom or handheld wand is needed. You could also use a handheld or backpack sprayer for smaller applications
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Oxadiazon SC to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment areas length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). The recommended rate is 1.85 - 2.8 oz. per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: In a sprayer of your choosing, fill the spray tank 1/4 of the way with water or fluid fertilizer only and then begin the agitation process. Add Oxadiazon SC to the spray tank and then add the rest of the required amount of water. Keep the agitation process going during the entire spraying process to ensure the product is well suspended.
- Step 3: Make application to desired areas and properly clean the spray equipment when completed.
Where to Use
Oxadiazon SC can be applied for landscapes and ornamental beds. It is not meant for use on residential turf and should only be applied by professional applicators.
When to Use
Apply in late winter or early spring prior to weed seed germination and turf greenup. Treatment is effective only against spring germinating Poa annua. A subsequent application can be made 4 months after the first application..
