Oasis Aquatic Herbicide
Oasis Aquatic Herbicide is a powerful selective aquatic herbicide that controls mild to thick infestations of invasive submersed and emergent aquatic weeds in various water bodies.
04/04/26
Oasis Aquatic Herbicide, manufactured by Sepro, is a reliable, fast-acting topramezone-based selective herbicide that targets troublesome aquatic weeds in ponds, lakes, and shoreline areas, delivering professional-grade results while being safe for fish when used as directed.
This suspension concentrate herbicide is powered by a modern active ingredient called Topramezone. It offers a unique mode of action in aquatic weed control, providing an alternative to traditional actives like fluridone and diquat. It acts by blocking the HPPD enzyme, which prevents plants from producing carotenoids. As a result, chlorophyll becomes unstable, and the plant bleaches and dies over the course of several days to weeks.
This systemic mode of action provides more complete control than contact herbicides and is especially effective on hydrilla, including fluridone-resistant biotypes.
Oasis Aquatic Herbicide provides control, confidence, and consistency to restore water sites to its natural, healthy state. Whether you're managing a recreational pond, a municipal lake, or a wetland, you need a product that works below the surface and delivers real, lasting results.
Tools Needed
It can be applied by aircraft, hydraulic handgun, boom sprayer, spray rig, backpack sprayer, or a boat.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Oasis Aquatic Herbicide you need by calculating the area size of your aquatic water body. To do this, you will need to calculate the pond's surface area by measuring (in feet) the water's length, width, and depth (length x width x depth = surface area square footage / 43,560 = surface acre). For foliar spot treatments, use 0.32 (0.25%) or 0.64 oz. (0.5%) of Oasis Aquatic Herbicide with 1.28 oz. of methylated seed oil per gallon of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray directly on the foliage above the waterline. Use a coarse spray to wet the leaves thoroughly but avoid runoff. Applications to dewatered irrigation canals must be conducted a minimum of 14 days before reflooding.
Where to Use
Oasis Aquatic Herbicide can be used in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, marshes, wetlands, bayous, drainage ditches, canals, and slow-moving or quiescent bodies of water including vegetation control on shoreline and riparian areas within or adjacent to these and other aquatic sites.
It may be applied directly into water or sprayed onto foliage of plants or exposed sediment after drawdown. Depending upon method of application and target plant, Oasis is absorbed by plants through leaves, from water through submersed plant shoots, or from soil or hydrosoil by roots. For in-water treatments, rapid water movement or any condition resulting in rapid dilution of Oasis in treated water will reduce its effectiveness.
When to Use
Apply early in the growing season, just as aquatic weeds begin to emerge.
Safety Information
Oasis Aquatic Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
There are no restrictions on consumption of treated water by livestock, pets, or other animals up to the maximum concentration of 50 ppb.
Special Considerations
For postemergence foliar application and exposed sediment treatment where some weed growth is present, mix Oasis with a surfactant. Use only surfactants approved or appropriate for aquatic use when applying over or near an aquatic site.
For treatments out of water, do not permit spray mists containing this product to drift onto desirable susceptible broadleaf plants or injury may occur.

| Keith's Pro Tip | "Oasis needs time in the water to work effectively. In slow or stagnant water, achieving 60 or more days of exposure is usually easy. In moving systems, you may need to use a series of pulse treatments or install barriers or flow reducers to help maintain the target concentration." |
| Time to Kill | Following in-water application, Oasis herbicidal symptoms appear in 7 to 10 days on actively growing plants as white (chlorotic) or pink growing points. Depending on conditions, slow plant death occurs over a period of 60 to 120 days or longer. |
