Monterey 70% Neem Oil
Monterey 70% Neem Oil
Monterey Neem Oil Insecticide, manufactured by Monterey, is an organic broad-spectrum insecticide, miticide, and fungicide.
The active ingredient in the insecticide is 70% neem oil which has long been known to have insecticidal properties. It kills eggs, larvae and adult stages of insects, and prevents fungal attack of plant tissues. Not to be confused with Monterey Neem Oil RTS, which comes with a hose-end sprayer attachment.
Monterey Neem Oil Insecticide can be used both indoors and outdoors on ornamental plants, flowers, trees, shrubs, vegetables, fruit and nut trees. Besides repelling many pests, neem oil also aids in control of some plant diseases.
Tools Needed
To apply Monterey Neem Oil Insecticide you will need a hand-pump sprayer, backpack sprayer or hose-end sprayer.
Do not add adjuvants such as spreaders, stickers, extenders, etc.
How to Use
- Step 1: Identify the areas where preventive treatment or where immediate treatment is needed. A typical application will use 2 to 4 tablespoons (1 to 2 fl. oz.) of Monterey Neem Oil per gallon of water.
- Step 2: Shake the container well before using. Pour in half of the amount of water into sprayer tank, add measured amount of Monterey Neem Oil, and fill the rest of the way with remaining half of water. Frequently mix solution as your spray to avoid separation of product. For hose-end sprayers, you will need to fill the appropriate amount of product into the container attaching to the hose end. Do not add water for hose-end sprayer as water will automatically mix with the product as you spray.
- Step 3: Point the nozzle of your sprayer towards infested plants and areas and spray in a sweeping motion until all surfaces of the plant area wet including the top and bottom of leaves. Respray the area every 14 days for continued control of diseases and insect infestations.
Where to Use

When to Use
Use Monterey 70% Neem Oil when you have noticed diseases forming on your plants or you have plant-eating pests infesting your indoor or outdoor plants. Applications should begin at the first sign of spring when plants are not wilted, stressed, or newly transplanted materials.
