Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks
Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks
Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks, manufactured by Lipha Tech, are a versatile rodenticide bait block that can easily be broken apart into 8 seperate pieces to control mice and rats, including warfarin-resistant Norway rats.
The blocks are made with a paraffin wax containing the active ingredient bromadiolone 0.005%, a second-generation anticoagulant. Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks are ideal for use in wet or humid areas such as sewers or tunnels and can withstand extreme outdoor temperatures. Each rodent bait block is formed in shape that helps to entice gnawing and to consume a lethal dose in one feeding.
Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks provides a deadly dose with the first feeding, and within 4 to 5 days dead rodents will begin to appear. Maki Bait Blocks are efficient in eliminating targeted rodents in various conditions.
Tools Needed
To apply Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks, a tamper-proof bait station must be used to ensure children, pets and innocent wildlife do not eat the bait. Gloves should also be worn not only for protection but to also prevent human scent from contaminating the bait and bait station.
How to Use
- Step 1: Locate the areas where rat or mouse activity is found by looking for things like droppings or chew marks on walls around baseboards. Remove all secondary food and water sources.
- Step 2: Break the Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks apart into 2-ounce pieces and place in bait stations. To get rid of house mice, break block and apply one 2 ounce piece per placement, usually spaced 8 to 12 feet apart. Maintain a constant supply of fresh bait for 15 days or until signs of house mouse activity cease
- Step 3: To get rid of rats, break block and apply two to eight 2 ounce pieces per placement, usually spaced 15 to 30 feet apart. Maintain a constant supply of fresh bait for 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease
- Step 4: For sewer applications, securely attach one end of a wire to block of bait and the other end to a stationary structure such as the bottom step of manhole ladder or to a sewer grate, allowing just enough wire for bait to rest on manhole benching. If benching is not present, suspend bait a few inches above the high water line or place bait on a board supported by opposing steps of the ladder. Place at least one entire Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks per manhole.
- Step 5: Replace contaminated or spoiled Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks immediately. Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all visible dead animals and leftover bait, as well as any bait that has become accessible to non-target animals. To discourage reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. For a continuous infestation, set up permanent bait stations and replenish bait as needed.
Where to Use
Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks can be used around residential, apartment homes, food processing plants, trash receptacles, barnyards, trains, ships, planes, and more. The bait blocks are ideal for use in areas with moisture and head, such as sewers, warehouses, and industrial kitchens. Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks cannot be placed over 100 feet away from a structure along a fence line or perimeter.
When to Use
Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks can be used anytime rat or mouse activity is found or suspected.

Keith's Pro Tips | "Even when rodenticide bait blocks are placed around outdoor areas where pets and children do not go, the rodent can move the bait from its original location, leaving it where it can be accessed. Always use a tamper proof bait station for outdoor areas even if it may seem safe." |
Product Drawbacks | Maki Paraffin Bait Blocks are made with a lethal ingredient. For non-lethal methods of controlling rats or mice we suggest using the Ketch-All Humane Mouse Trap, the Tin Cat Humane Mouse Trap or a repellent device such as the Quadblaster QB-4. |
