JT Eaton Super Strongbox 912
JT Eaton Super Strongbox 912
The Strongbox Bait Station has a triple riveted, hinged lid, with small entry and exit holes for rodents to explore, and a central bait chamber with rods for bait placement, but is made from a sturdy steel so it is extremely durable and excellent for use in rough areas. The bait station can be used with a wide variety of bait blocks, and even snap traps and liquid bait.
Tools Needed:
The product comes with everything it needs except the bait blocks you intend to use. Included is the key that allows the bait stationed to be opened, so it is helpful to put this in a secure location that will be easy to remember as the bait station cannot be opened without it.
How to Use:
- Step 1: Observe and identify what rodents you wish to eliminate and where they frequent. This will determine how many bait blocks to use, and where the best locations for the stations will be.
- Step 2: While wearing gloves, place the bait blocks on the central rod and fit the rod in place in the bait chamber. Close the lid of the station, ensuring that it has clicked properly in place.
- Step 3: Place the bait stations in the desired areas. Make sure that the entry and exit holes are not obstructed, and place the device along walls whenever possible as rodents do not like to travel across open space.
- Step 4: Check the bait stations daily, while wearing gloves, to clean and reapply new bait whenever necessary. Maintain this until the rodent activity has ceased or has reached a manageable level.
Where to Use:
These bait stations are very effective for use in rugged areas and around the home as the are tamper-proof and durable making them a reliable and safe option for rodent control. Place these stations around your home, business, warehouse, and anywhere else that you need to control rodents. Remember to place them along walls and baseboards, as rodents do not like to travel across open space.
When to Use:
These bait stations can be used during the first signs of rodent activity or during an active infestation. Due to their durability and ease of use, this product can be a great way to control rodent problems year round if they are a frequent issue.
Safety Information:
This product is designed to be tamper proof, and weather resistant, but it is still helpful to place them in areas out of reach of children and pets. The bait is in a raised enclosure in the center of the device to prevent rain water from soaking in, but it can still be helpful to relocate to drier areas if puddles and runoff are a problem.
Special Considerations:
This product is designed to be tamper proof, and can only be opened with the provided key, however this means that if that key is lost it can be very difficult to find a replacement or get the station open again. It is helpful to keep track of how often you are resupplying bait, to keep a gauge on how many rodents are consuming your bait.

Anyway, he used large Protecta plastic stations outside that had a built in weight on them. They worked great for the mice, but the raccoons decided to take off with it leaving it about 50' away. I also noticed the raccoons could get their claws far enough into the Protecta to get at the bait inside.
I decided to stop paying the exterminator and went on the lookout for a better station and came across these. These are very well made for the price! They are very heavy gauge galvanized metal and have nice hinged lids. They each come with their own key and rods for mounting bait vertically or horizontally. They have two holes on the bottom so you can mount it to something heavy. I chose some $2 pavers. They can hold up to 8 blocks vertically which is how I mounted them.
The very first night I had it out the raccoons tried to steal one. They could only drag that bad boy about 2' before they gave up and left it. They also were unable to get at the bait inside unlike the Protecta. I'm already seeing mouse droppings in one of the other stations after only one night so the mice like these too!
I highly recommend this unit over the Protecta stations.

Q:Can I use soft bait in it?6/27/21A:I would think you could use any bait that fits into the compartment. Note: The Bait Box was supplied with 2 different optional lengths of rods to hold the bait chunks in place. If you don’t use the rods to secure the “soft bait” – maybe a rodent or chipmunk could pull all the “soft bait” out easier and move it to a remote location depending upon what is “soft bait”. ???
