Flagship 25WG Insecticide

Flagship 25 WG Insecticide, manufactured by Syngenta, is designed to control plant sap-sucking and chewing pests found on landscapes, croplands, soil and ornamentals. It has shown to be especially good in controlling infestations of aphids, thrips, whiteflies and other similar pests that damage plant life.

The active ingredient in Flagship is Thiamethoxam and the product works systemically by being taken up into a treat plant down to the root to protect the plant from infestation. Pests will stop feeding on the treated plant and eventually die from the effects of the insecticide.

Tools Needed

You will need either a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Flagship 25WG Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For foliar applications to ornamental plants, fruit and nut trees (non-bearing), Christmas trees, and forest seedlings grown in greenhouses, lath and shadehouses, containers, field nurseries and interiorscapes apply 8.5 oz. of Flagship 25WG Insecticide per 100 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: Replace the cap and agitate by shaking the sprayer. Add the remaining water required, then repeat agitation until the insecticide solution is thoroughly mixed.
• Step 3: Apply product to plants, making sure you coat the plant uniformly. You may need to occasionally agitate the sprayer during use to ensure even coverage.
• Step 4: Reapply as needed every 7-28 days until there is no more plant damage and the insects are all gone.

Flagship 25WG can be used on commercial and residential ornamental plants, shrubs, turf, trees, greenhouses, and nurseries to control plant-damaging insects.

Safety Information

Flagship 25WG Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Keep people and pets out of the treated area until the spray has dried.

Special Considerations

Applications of Flagship 25WG to varieties of Yellow Honey Locust may result in leaf chlorosis and leaf abscision. Although the effects are temporary, do not use Flagship 25WG on Yellow Honey Locust varieties.
