Advion Insect Granular Bait

Advion Insect Granular Bait, manufactured by Syngenta, is a highly attractive granular bait designed to quickly control a wide range of common indoor and outdoor pests, including those in its late-nymph stages like mole crickets.

This granular product comes in a palatable formula and has differentiating modes of action, resulting in faster consumption of lethal bait material to target pests like ants without harming non-target organisms.

Advion Insect Granular Bait prevents missed applications due to its optimal granule size (between 0.42 mm – 2.0 mm), and offers easier monitoring in heavily mulched/thick vegetation areas. While this product is the exact same as Advion Insect Granule Insecticide, the difference is Advion Insect Granular Insect Bait can be used at lower application rates for the same level of pest activity control.

Tools Needed

To apply Advion Insect Granular Bait, you will need to use a push spreader, broadcast spreader, or handheld spreader. This product may also be applied in commercial bait stations. For crack and crevice treatments, use a bulb applicator or other similar equipment.

Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Advion Insect Granular Bait to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For outdoor applications, apply 1.15 to 4.6 lbs. of Advion Insect Granular Bait per 1,000 sq. ft. or 0.11 to 0.44 lbs. of product per acre. Outdoor spot applications in lawns and landscapes or outdoor perimeter treatments, use 0.38 to 4.6 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. For outdoor and indoor bait stations, use 2 to 4 oz. of product per bait station. For indoor crack, crevice, and void applications or indoor perimeter treatments, use 2 oz. of product per 10 linear feet. Indoor scatter applications, apply 0.38 lb to 4.6 lb. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. The minimum application rate for cockroaches is 1.15 lb. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. (equivalent to 1.84 oz. of product per 100 sq. ft.).
• Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the proper ratio to deliver the precise amount of Advion Insect Granular Bait. Load the measured amount of product into the spreader.
• Step 3: To perform a perimeter treatment, apply the Advion Insect Granular Bait to the ground area in a band up to 7 feet wide around and adjacent to the structure. Load the commercial bait station with the exact amount of product needed. The number of bait stations placed in the treated area will depend on the size of the area and the level of the infestation. Monitor the bait stations, and replenish bait granules as needed. For scatter bait applications, spread the product in listed areas that are out of reach of children and pets.

Where to Use

Advion Insect Granular Bait can be used in and around residential dwellings, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, institutional buildings, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, schools, including lawns and landscapes, sports and athletic fields, and other similar landscape turf areas.

This product may also be used in residential structures and the non-food areas of commercial, industrial, public and institutional buildings/structures, including restaurants, warehouses, food processing plants, supermarkets, hospitals, nursing homes, motels, hotels, schools, daycares, laboratories, computer facilities, aircraft, buses, boats/ships, trains, and pet shops.

Not for use in nurseries and greenhouses.

When to Use

Use Advion Insect Granular Bait in the late afternoon when signs of pest activity is shown or you have seen the pest itself. Best results, are usually seen when applications are done in the late summer and fall. To control adult mole crickets before they lay eggs, this product should be applied in the spring.

Safety Information

Advion Insect Granular Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.

Do not allow livestock or domestic animals to consume the bait or graze in treated areas.

Do not apply this product indoors to areas accessible to children or pets.

Special Considerations

Advion Insect Granular Bait will kill cockroaches that consume the bait granules when placed in attics, crawl spaces and basements of residential, industrial and commercial buildings or structures, but this type of application alone is not intended to provide complete control of an indoor cockroach infestation. We recommend keeping up with regular sanitization and applying outdoor perimeter treatments with a broad-spectrum insecticide.
