Advion Insect Granule Insecticide
Advion Insect Granule Insecticide
Advion Insect Granule, manufactured by Syngenta, is a fast acting granule bait that can control a wide range of household pests both indoors and outdoors. Its flexibility is further seen with its versatile application as a broadcast treatment, perimeter treatment, or as a spot treatment on insect harborage areas outdoors.
Formulated with the potent active ingredient Indoxacarb 0.22%, which works to draws pests to the target area for quicker ingestion and death while also avoiding the attention of non-target pests.
Advion Insect Granule is a highly effective bait solution that comes in a palatable formula, offering more product consumption and less application at an economical cost.
Tools Needed
To apply Advion Insect Granule, you will need a granular spreader. A handheld or broadcast should work fine for smaller applications.
Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Advion Insect Granule to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment site. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiply (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 = acre). Outdoor broadcast applications will apply 1.15 to 4.6 lbs. of Advion Insect Granule per 1,000 sq. ft. or 50 to 200 lbs. of product per acre. The application rate for indoor treatments will depend on whether you are using a perimeter or broadcast application. For indoor perimeter applications, apply Advion Insect Granule along the edge of crawl space in a band approximately 6 to 12 inches wide at rate of 2 oz. bait granules per 10 linear feet. For indoor broadcast applications, use Advion Insect Granule at a rate of 1.15 lb. granules per 1,000 sq. ft. The minimum application rate for cockroaches is 2.3 lb. bait granules per 1,000 sq. ft., equivalent to 3.86 oz. per 100 sq. ft. Do not exceed 200 total pounds of product per acre per season for broadcast applications in turfgrass. Refer to the label for specific application rates and locations.
- Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the proper settings and load the appropriate amount of Advion Insect Granule into it.
- Step 3: Place this product in areas with high amount of pest activity as directed on the product label. For some areas such as basements and attics, you may need to place this product in a bait station. Avoid areas accessible to children and pets for applications. Outdoor applications will need to have the soil lightly irrigated prior to Advion Insect Granule application to help bring pests to the surface. Monitor the treated area and repeat application as needed when 7 days have passed after the first treatment.
Where to Use
Advion Insect Bait can be used both indoors and outdoors. Use this product on outdoor sites such as turfgrasses grown for aesthetic or recreational purposes or climatic modification in or around home lawns, residential dwellings, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, institutional buildings, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, schools, golf courses (tee box areas, roughs, fairways, greens, collars etc.), sports and/or athletic fields, other similar landscape turf areas, soil areas, planter areas, vegetation areas, and mulch areas.
Indoor applications may be made in crawl spaces, unfinished basements and attics not actively used as living areas of residential, industrial and commercial buildings or structures.
Place bait stations containing Advion Insect Granules in areas of the basement that are accessible to insect pests but not accessible to children and pets.
Not for use in nurseries and greenhouses nor on turfgrass that is being grown for seed or on commercial sod farms.
When to Use
Apply Advion Insect Granule in the spring and late summer and fall to control pests prior to activity or when pests are present. For best results, apply in late afternoon to areas of turfgrass that are infested with listed pests.
Rainfall or irrigation within 2 to 3 days after application may reduce the effectiveness of Advion Insect Granule.
Grass that is already wet with dew, rainfall or irrigation should dry before application.
Safety Information
Advion Insect Granule is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
Do not allow Advion Insect Granule to contact any food or feed being stored in an unfinished or finished basement.
Do not allow livestock or domestic animals to consume the bait or graze in treated areas.
Special Considerations
Advion Insect Granule will kill cockroaches that consume the bait granules when placed in crawl spaces and basements of residential, industrial and commercial buildings or structures, but this type of application alone is not intended to provide complete control of an indoor cockroach infestation.
