ZP Pellet Rodent Bait, manufactured by Bell Labs, is a pellet formulated rodenticide that is mainly used in agricultural settings for controlling many outdoor pests such as prairie dogs, rats, mice, voles, gophers.

The active ingredient in this bait is Zinc Phosphide mixed with human food-grade ingredients which makes it a palatable bait that results in a quick kill.

ZP Pellet Rodent Bait is an excellent rodent bait that provides fast economical cleanout of troblesome rodents within hours of application. 

Tools Needed

ZP Pellet Rodent Bait come ready to use but it will need to be placed in a tamper-resistant bait station.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine areas in and around the structure that have frequent pest activity and remove harboarages and food sources. To control rats in and around buildings/structures, use 1 to 2 teaspoons of ZP Pellet Rodent Bait per bait station or active rat burrows outdoors. To control mice in and around buildings/structures, use 1 teaspoon of product per bait stations with them being spaced 8-12 ft apart. Refer the label for specific rates and restrictions. 
  • Step 2: While wearing gloves, load the bait stations with the proper amount of ZP Pellet Rodent Bait.
  • Step 3: Check if the ZP Pellet Rodent Bait is being consumed and replace as instructed on the label for the pest you are trying to control.
  • Step 4: With gloves on, collect and dispose any dead rodents and bait according to the label directions.

Where to Use

ZP Pellet Rodent Bait can be used in rangeland, pastures, non-crop rights-of-way, alfalfa, timothy, barley, potatoes, wheat, sugar beets, sugarcane, grape vineyards, fruit and nut tree orchards, macadamia nut orchards, in and around buildings, and other sites. 

When to Use

Use ZP Pellet Rodent Bait during periods of high pest activity or when a rodent has trespassed indoors. Prime times around around the winter when temperatures have cooled and rodents are looking for a warm place to stay.

Safety Information

ZP Pellet Rodent Bait is safe to use around pets and children when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product. 

If animal eats bait, call veterinarian at once.

Special Considerations

Bait stations are mandatory when baiting with this product outdoors to keep children, pets, birds and other animals safe from the poison.

Do not use this product in habitats occupied or occasionally visited by whooping cranes during the period from 30 days before the expected arrival of cranes to 30 days after the time of their usual departure.

Do not use this product within 7 kilometers (4.34 miles) of any prairie dog town to limit risks to the black-footed ferret from exposure to Zinc Phosphide or destruction of its prey base, unless the colony is an isolated blacktailed prairie dog town less than 80 acres in size or an isolated white-tailed prairie dog town less than 200 acres in size, or unless the town had been appropriately surveyed, using methods acceptable to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and found by the FWS not to be suitable site for ferret reintroductions. 

Unless the local U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service office has determined that there are no gray wolves or grizzly bears in the general vicinity of bait applications in Montana and Wyoming, do not apply this product outdoors within occupied habitat of these species.
