The Woodpecker Pro, manufactured by Bird-X, is a sonic-specific fully customizable woodpecker and sparrow repeller. The device uses naturally recorded distress calls and predator cries to frighten and disorient the birds.
The device is a humane and eco-friendly way to create a no-fly zone for woodpeckers and sparrows. The Woodpecker Pro, has a frequency range of 3-5 kHz and a sound pressure of 105-110 decibels at 1 meter with a distance range of 1 acre and the ability to widen that range with extension speakers.
The Woodpecker Pro is highly customizable with 8 different natural bird sounds, and the ability to select the frequency, volume, direction, and hours of operation. Woodpecker Pro is easy to install, waterproof and no additional hardware is required.
Tools Needed
To use the Woodpecker Pro, a source of electricity or a 12vDC battery will be needed as well as a screwdriver, and a drill.
How to Use
- Step 1: Point the Woodpecker Pro towards the bird infestation. Set the unit on a flat surface or mount it to a post
- Step 2: Plug one end of the adapter into the ac jack. Plug the adapter into any standard electrical outlet. An optional battery cable can be used to connect the control unit to a 12-volt battery. Both the connection to the outlet (or battery) and the connection of the power cable inside the Woodpecker Pro must be protected from dripping or splashing water.
- Step 3: Set the DIP switches on the front metal face plate of the Woodpecker Pro (set switch array #1 and switch array #2) to the desired settings.
- Step 4: Turn the volume switch to low.
- Step 5: Turn the power switch to the INT/EXT speaker on.
- Step 6: Adjust the volume to the desired level.
- Step 7: After turning the unit off make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before turning it back on.
- Step 8: Close the cover and latch shut. Ensure that the cover is properly latched shut and do not open the cover during conditions that would expose the inside of the control unit to water.

The Woodpecker Pro can be used in homes, gardens, patios, sheds, storage buildings, trees, public parks, hangers, fields, and beaches.
When to Use
Use the Woodpecker Pro, when there is a current infestation of birds or as a preventative where birds can occur.
Safety Information
The Woodpecker Pro is safe to use around children and pets when used according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and installing the equipment.
Special Considerations
Do not install the Woodpecker Pro during snow or rain conditions. Installations should be in such a way that the power supply and internal unit are not subjected to rain or snow. Note that the power supply is intended for dry location use only. Refer to the instructions for programming settings.

Q:I have a two story house and the woodpeckers attack the east end. which makes installation difficult to mount and stay dry. Any suggestions?3/29/23A:You will need to point the Woodpecker Pro towards the bird infestation, which can be seen by areas they are most commonly visiting. Set the unit on a flat surface or mount it to a wooden post using the included mounting bracket and screws. It will need to be near an outdoor standard electrical outlet or an optional battery cable may be used to connect the control unit to a 12-volt battery. Installation shall be made in such a way that a power supply and the internal part of the control unit never be subjected to water or snow. You could install this device on your window sill as long as there is protective covering above it or install it on a wooden post and put a secure covering above it to protect it from the weather or underneath a tree with a thick canopy.
