Tools Needed

Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide will need to applied with a push spreader, broadcast spreader, or handheld spreader.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For general lawn applications, apply 2.3 to 4.6 lbs. of Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide per 1,000 sq. ft. or 100 to 200 lbs. of product per acre.
  • Step 2: Calibrate your spreader as instructed on the label then load it with the proper amount of Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide.
  • Step 3: Spread the Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide evenly across the treated area. Immediately after application, water the granules in with 0.5 inches of irrigation to activate them. To make perimeter applications apply the product to ground area 5 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the structure.

Where to Use

Apply Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide to lawns in landscaped areas and perimeters around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas and athletic fields.

Do not use on golf courses, sod farms, nurseries, in commercial greenhouses or on grass grown for seed.

When to Use

Use Up-Star Gold Granular Insecticide when pests are first seen or prior to their activity such as in the spring, summer, and early fall.

Best results to control ants will be obtained by appling in cool weather (65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit) or in early morning or late evening hours. Treat new mounds as they appear.
