Up-End Hydrocap Herbicide, manufactured by United Phosphorus, is an effective pre-emergent herbicide that controls over 40 types of broadleaf and grassy weeds before they overtake turf, landscapes, and non-cropland areas.

Formulated to deliver optimal control of germinating weeds like crabgrass, oxalis, and prostrate spurge with its active ingredient pendimethalin 38.7%. Due to this superior encapsulated, water-based formulation this product will ensure residential and commercial owners lush, and dense foliage.

Up-End Hydrocap Herbicide is a odor-free herbicide that reduces potential staining on treated areas and protects foliage for up to 6 months after application.

Tools Needed

Up-End Hydrocap Herbicide can be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Up-End Hydrocap Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For general applications on cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf, apply 1.1 fl. oz. in 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. or 3.1 pints of product per 5 gallons of water per acre.
  • Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of herbicide, then pour the remaining half of water into the tank. Shake it until it has dissolved in water.
  • Step 3: Spray to areas you wish to protect from weed activity or where you have seen previous infestations to the point of wet, but not runoff. Follow the application with 1/2 inch of rainfall or irrigation. If this product is not activated by rainfall or irrigation within 30 days, weed control may be erratic.

Where to Use

Use Up-End Hydrocap Herbicide in turfgrasses, landscape or grounds Maintenance, noncropland areas and ornamental production sites.

Turfgrass sites (golf course, lawns, sod farms and other turf areas) and landscape ornamental maintenance areas. Such sites include, but are not limited to: grounds or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, multifamily dwellings, military and other institutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses, prairie grass areas and sod farms.

Do not apply this product in greenhouses, shadehouses or other enclosed structures.

When to Use

Apply Up-End Hydrocap Herbicide when weeds are not present within treated areas. Applications can also be done on newly planted turf areas and well established turfgrass with a dense and uniform stand.

Do not apply until the turfgrass has filled in and has been mowed at least four times. Applications made to overseeded warmseason turfgrasses may cause thinning or injury of the overseeded species
