Specially formulated with 3 active ingredients MCPP 17.37%, 2,4-D 18.47%, and Dicamba 3.85% to get rid of invasive weeds, including dandelion and clover without harming sensitive warm-seasoned grass like zoysia and higher MCPP to maintain its quality.
Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide is a dependable post-emergent herbicide that eliminates a broad-spectrum of weeds immediately upon application. Whether its a single or dense patch of weeds in your lawn this fast, acting herbicide delivers results without harming established turf.
Tools Needed
To use Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide, you will need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choosing such as a backpack, hose-end or hand-pump sprayer. For the average job, a hand-pump gallon sprayer works best.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Trimec Souther Broadleaf Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure and multiply the area length times the width (length x width = square footage). Use 0.75 oz. of Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of bermudagrass, bentgrass, bluegrass, fescues, and zoysiagrass. Apply 0.37 to 0.55 oz. of product per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, and seashore paspalum.
- Step 2: In a sprayer of your choice, fill the sprayer tank halfway with water and then add the appropriate amount of Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide based on your grass type and area measured. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with water and agitate the sprayer until the product is well mixed.
- Step 3: Apply the Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide solution to the target weed, making sure to get uniform coverage via fan spray setting. You can either spot treat or broadcast the product over an area depending on the weed issue and severity of the infestation. Reapply the product after 30 days as needed for total control. Do not irrigate within 24 hours after application.
Where to Use
Trimec Southern Herbicide can be used on sensitive-warm season turfgrass on golf courses, residential and commercial lawns, sports turf and park and recreational areas. It is labeled for use on the following well-established turfgrasses: Bermudagrass, Bentgrass, Bluegrass, Fescues, Zoysiagrass, St.Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, and Seashore Paspalum.
Do not use on lippia or dichondra nor on lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.
When to Use
Use Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide upon the first sign of broadleaf weeds emerging on your turf. Apply when weeds are young and actively growing.
Do not spray while grass is emerging from dormancy. Wait until newly seeded turf has recieved its second or third mowing before applying this product.

Q:How long before it shows results?3/18/21A:If mixed properly you should see the weeds yellowing after a few days. This can vary based on weather. The warmer it is the faster it works. Q:I live in Knoxville, TN. I have nearly an acre lawn with many older trees. Wild violets seem to be taking over. I was previously informed that Allagare with Tricopye 4 was the best to get rid of the violets (which I did use with semi-fair results). After recently reading the information on the Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide, it appears this may be a better product. What are your recommendations for killing wild violets and the best time of year to apply?7/7/19
-
Q:Do I need to use a sticker?8/9/18A:You don't have to but depending on the plant you are targeting it could be best to use a surfactant to get better sticking.
