The Bird Deflector, manufactured by Bird-X, is a shiny wind and solar-powered device. It creates a visual glare that helps deter birds from outdoor areas. This inexpensive and easy-to-position product lends itself to many different outdoor applications. 

The 11 by 12.5-inch device is positionable and can be mounted by screws, suction cups, or adhesive. The Bird Deflector works by spinning and reflecting light to visually scare and irritate birds in parks, outdoor seating areas, homes, and farms.

The Bird Deflector reduces health and liability risks associated with bird infestation. The device can be used in conjunction with other bird deterrents such as sound and sensory repellents.  

Tools Needed

The Bird Deflector comes with a mounting bracket but you will need to decide whether to use suction cups, screws, or adhesives to mount it.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how many Bird Deflectors to use. You will need to measure the square footage of the treatment area. Do this by measuring the length and width of the treatment area in feet and then multiplying them together (length x width = square footage). Apply 1 Bird Deflector per 50 inches of the treatment area.
• Step 2: Once you determine how many Bird Deflectors are required for the treatment area you will need to affix them to roofs, posts, trees, and other areas that get light and wind. The Bird Deflector does come with a mounting plate but you will need to determine if you will be using suction cups, screws, or adhesives to place the devices.

Where to Use

The Bird Deflector can be used in vineyards, gardens, parking lots, fields, parks, boat docks, marinas, private beaches, rooftops, and trees. 

When to Use

The Bird Deflector should be used as a preventative in outdoor areas or where bird problems already exist. The Bird Reflector can also be used with other bird deterrent devices such as sound devices or taste aversion.
