4 The Birds Gel Repellent, manufactured by JT Eaton, is a transparent sticky gel used to ward off pigeons, starlings and other birds from landing on surfaces.

The gel is made out of polybutene (used in chewing gum, lipstick and bandages) and is EPA approved for bird control. It can deter birds for up to a year depending on the environment.

Due to its chemical formula, birds learn to avoid areas treated with 4 The Birds and seek new locations for roosting. If you have pest birds on your property gathering and doing damage with their droppings, 4 The Birds is an excellent humane way to keep them away.

Applying 4 The Birds Gel To Railing

Tools Needed

To use 4 The Birds Liquid Repellent you will need a standard caulking gun to conveniently push out the gel.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Before inserting a cartridge of 4 The Birds into the caulking gun carriageway, simply trim the end of the plastic spout to a taper. Leave the lip on the spout for replacing the cap on partially filled cartridges, and puncture the seal. Always remember to replace the cap on the tip of any partially filled caulk tube.
  • Step 2: To apply 4 The Birds, keep the tapered, flat section of the cartridge spout upper-most, but resting lightly on the surface to be treated. Then, draw the caulking gun slowly towards you while applying steady pressure on the trigger during the full distance of travel.
  • Step 3: This technique provides a solid bead (strip) of 4 The Birds repellent approximately 1/2" wide and ensures satisfactory results.

Where to Use

Use 4 The Birds on bird resting places, such as window sills, roof ridges, gutters, parapets and ledges.

When to Use

It is recommended that treatment to trees, bushes, and shrubs be made in the fall or early spring when limbs are bare and easily accessible. Aside from that, you can apply 4 The Birds any time of the year to ward off birds.

Safety Information

Wear gloves when applying 4 The Birds. The product is safe to use when applied according to label directions.

Special Considerations

You will need a standard caulking gun to apply the gel (sold separately).
