Bird Stop, by Bird-X, is a potent, and natural liquid bird repellent that is easy to apply in most areas.

This product uses an active ingredient called methylanthranilate that is derived from concord grapes that creates an offensive odor to birds, making it unpleasant for them to land or nest in a treated area.

Just one application can deliver success in keeping birds away. Followup applications will make even the most stubborn birds not want to return and cause damage.

Tools Needed:

You can apply this product with most common insecticide sprayers, such as a hand pump sprayer or backpack sprayer. It can even be applied by painting the product onto a surface with a paintbrush.

How to Use:

  • Step 1: Identify the areas where the birds are most active, and measure the square footage area so you will know how much product is needed. To do this, measure the length and width (in feet) and then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). 1.3 oz to 7.7 oz. in 1 to 6 gallons of water can cover 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with water, then add the required amount of Bird Stop to the sprayer. Fill your sprayer with the remaining amount of water, screw on the lid, and agitate the sprayer.
  • Step 3: Apply the product evenly in the desired areas, ensuring you do not miss any spots that would allow for birds to return to the area.

Where to Use:

Bird Stop can be applied in many areas. It is safe to apply over fruit trees such as apples, peaches, etc, and over berry bushes and trees. It can also be applied to turf and ornamentals, non-fish bearing bodies of water such as water impoundments and fountains and in and on structures.

When to Use:

Use this product when birds are a nuisance to your crops, or just nesting in an area. Begin application when fruit begins to ripen or birds begin feeding. Reapply every 5 to 8 days if birds reappear.

Safety Information:

Bird Stop is natural and organic, so it is safe to use on crops but it is still a concentrated chemical so it is necessary to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) whenever you are handling, measuring, mixing, and applying.

Special Considerations:

When applying this product over crops, there is a certain amount of time you need to wait for the product to dissipate before picking and eating the crops. Refer to the label for the from time frames.

  10. Q:Will this harm chickens?
    9/27/17
A:The Bird Stop is a repellent and will not harm them but will cause an extreme food-grade taste aversion agent, made from a bitter, smelly derivative of concord grapes (active ingredient is methylanthranilate). This substance renders food sources unpalatable to birds and irritates their trigeminal systems (similar to our sense of smell).
