Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide
Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide
Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide, manufactured by Agrisel, is a selective pre-emergent and post-emergent soil applied herbicide that delivers exceptional control over a 100 species of of broadleaf, grass, and sedge weeds like chickweed and carpetweed.
As a selective soil applied herbicide it can be applied at anytime or any location (exception of sandy soils) to stop the germinating or emergence of weeds within your lawn.
Furthermore, Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide has an active ingredient Sulfentrazone 39.6% that stops the cell membranes of weeds and inhibits photosynthesis in plants, leading to plants death. Sulfentrazone does an excellent job on both warm-season and cool-season grasses and has a broad list of weeds that it can control.
Tools Needed
To use Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide, you will need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choosing such as a backpack, hose-end or hand-pump sprayer. For the average job, a hand-pump gallon sprayer works best.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide you need by calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To do this, you will need to measure and multiply the area length times the width (length X width = square footage). Apply, 4 to 12 fl. oz. of Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide per acre or 0.092 to 0.275 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. Do not apply more than 12 fl. oz. of product per acre per year. For broadcast applications in non-cropland, apply 8 to 12 fl. oz. of product per acre in a minimum of 10 gallons of spray solution per acre. Use 10 to 40 gallons of water per acre. For specific rates or weeds refer to the label.
- Step 2: Based on your calculations, mix the appropriate amount of Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide with water in a hand-pump sprayer. Start by filling your sprayer tank halfway with the appropriate amount of water, add the measured Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide, and then fill the sprayer the rest of the way with other half of measured water and agitate until the product is well mixed.
- Step 3: Broadcast spray or spot treat the Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide mixture based on the severity of your weed problem, making sure to get even coverage via fan spray setting. After application, the herbicide must be activated with water, thus the treated area should receive at least 0.25 inches of water. If reapplications are necessary, wait at least 60 days after first application and only if 12 fl. oz. of this product has not been used within one acre in the same calendar year.
Where to Use
Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide may be used on established cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned grasses in sod production sites (including residential and institutional lawns, athletic fields, golf courses, fairways, field nursery stocks, and roughs and commercial sod farms), non-crop commercial container and field grown ornamentals, rights-of-ways including railroad, highway, roadside, pipeline, utility, industrial areas, and fence rows.
Do not apply this product within 50 feet of wells-including abandoned wells and drainage wells, perennial or intermittent streams and rivers, natural or impounded lakes and reservoirs, and sinkholes.
When to Use
For best results of Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide it should be applied to soil free of clods and debris such as leaves or mulch. Apply on dry, warm days when wind and rainfall is not predicted within 24 hours to minimize drift.
Apply when plants are under stress from heat, drought or frost.
Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide cannot be directly applied to landscape ornamental foliage or ornamental beds containing dormant bulbs or non-woody perennials. Sod production areas and turf must be established within 3 months prior to initial treatment.
Safety Information
Sulfentrazone 4F Herbicide is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Wait at least 24 hours before allowing children, pets, or other individuals to enter the treatment area.
