Spectre PS Aerosol
Spectre PS Aerosol is a practical, non-repellent pressurized spray aerosol that provides long-lasting, non-staining indoor and outdoor pest control, especially in cracks and crevices.
09/12/25
Spectre PS Aerosol, manufactured by Control Solutions, is an innovative new pressurized aerosol solution designed to deliver long-lasting control of bedbugs, cockroaches, and other occasional invaders indoors and outdoors.
Unlike other aerosol insecticides, Spectre PS is not a neurotoxin. This product is powered by the active ingredient Chlorfenapyr, a pyrrole that interferes with insects' energy production, eventually leading to paralysis and death. This different mode of action makes Spectre PS a great option for insecticide rotation to minimize the chance of target insects developing resistance to residual insecticides.
Spectre PS is also non-repellent, so pests cannot detect where it has been applied and will come right into contact with it without knowing.
Spectre PS comes in a versatile dual-action design—it can either be used as a fan spray or a crack and crevice spray by simply flipping up the straw applicator attachment. This allows users to treat whatever problem areas they have to treat pests directly.
Spectre PS is slow-acting, giving time for the pests exposed to the formula to travel and interact with other pests to transfer the insecticide, so many bugs will die. It is also long-lasting. Use Spectre PS as part of a comprehensive pest management program to eliminate pest infestation.
Tools Needed
Spectre PS comes in a ready-to-use aerosol can with no additional tools necessary for application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Inspect and identify the pest you want to treat and note the active areas where they are found or are hiding. You should also calculate the square footage of the area you want to treat to determine how much Spectre PS you may need to apply. You can measure the area length and width and multiply the two values (length x width = square footage).
- Step 2: For spot treatments, hold the can 12 inches from the sprayed surface and apply directly on insects, limiting the treatments to an area no larger than 2 sq. ft. per room. For crack and crevice applications, apply Spectre PS by flipping up the straw actuator and applying to cracks, crevices, voids and/or shelters where pests may be resting or hiding.
- Step 3: When making injection treatments, used the supplied actuator and injection tubes and place the tip into the hole or opening. Release approximately 1 second of Spectre PS insecticide. For light infestation, move the tip along cracks and crevices (such as under appliances, around sinks, door and window frames, etc.) at the rate of 3 linear ft. per second. For heavy infestation, move the injector tip along at 1 linear ft. per second. For closed voids, calculate the cubic area of the void and apply at a rate of 1 to 5 seconds per 3 cubic ft.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed no more than once every 4 weeks until there is no further insect threat.
Where to Use
Spectre PS can be used as a crack and crevice treatment, space spray, void treatment, or direct spot or contact treatment in and around apartments, food storage areas, homes, hospitals, hotels, meat packing and food processing plants, motels, nursing homes, restaurants and other food handling establishments, schools, supermarkets, warehouses, and other commercial and industrial buildings.
When to Use
Use Spectre PS was part of a comprehensive pest management program along with IGRs and baits, depending on the level of infestation. Insect pests can be active all year round but can be especially active in the summer through fall. Do not reapply to treated areas more than once every four weeks.
Safety Information
Spectre PS Aerosol is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.
After application, keep people and pets out of the area until the product has dried completely.
Special Considerations
Spectre PS could potentially cause staining on some surfaces or damage to finishes. Before spot treating on plastic, painted or varnished surfaces, it would be wise to first test a small, inconspicuous area and observe for staining or damage to finish. If all is well, you can continue with application.
