Why You Should Choose Apex Gel Bait To Address Your Cockroach Problem

German cockroaches are regarded by far as the most common and hated household pests one can encounter in the home. Part of the reason why they are so frustrating, aside from their ability to reproduce and multiply at alarming rates, is the fact that they are often successful at resisting insecticides aimed at targeting them.

One of the prime ways of tackling a cockroach infestation is via baiting and quite often they can become averse to different types of baits and gels, making it important to rotate baits regularly. Even so, cockroaches are smarter than they look and can avoid baits.

For a long while it appeared that cockroaches were winning the war against baits, however, the makers of Apex Gel Bait have addressed the issue with the formulation of a gel bait that cockroaches simply are not be able to resist.

Apex Gel Bait is regarded on the cockroach control market as one of the best cockroach gel baits for the control of German cockroaches due to the number of attractants the formula contains, a whopping 11. The sheer volume of attractants makes it so no matter what the cockroach is in the mood to consume, Apex Gel Bait has what they are looking for and will ultimately lure them to their doom.

Why Cockroaches Develop Resistance To Gel Baits

Whatever type of cockroach insecticides you throw at them, roaches have an amazing ability to quickly adapt and survive different types of products designed to kill them. Cockroaches have developed resistance to many of the most widely used spray and dust insecticides, and have recently been turning away from baits, including some that were very effective just a few years ago. Cockroaches, especially German cockroaches in particular, develop a resistance to baits known as bait aversion.

The bait aversion issue was first discovered in the warmer climate states like Florida and Texas where roaches are plentiful because of the ideal weather situations where they thrive and then the aversion began to spread throughout the rest of the country. This led both DIY pest control homeowners and pest control professionals to try to regroup and see what can be do to get rid of cockroaches.

The refusal of German cockroaches eating even the leading commercial cockroach gel baits was an indication that there are things contained in the bait which the roaches do not like. The makers of Apex Gel bait took this information and created themselves a formula of bait that cockroaches will not be able to say no to.

While it can be a lethal bait for all roach types, Apex Gel Bait in particular targets German cockroaches because they are the most common cockroach species in homes, apartments, restaurants, hotels and other institutions in the United States and in most parts of the civilized world.

In the past, German cockroaches began avoiding baits that contained glucose sugar, because rather than finding the sugar to be sweet, they found it bitter and avoided the bait entirely, rendering the product ineffective.

With Apex cockroach gel bait and the number of attractants the formula contains, you can be assured that you’ll be seeing a lot of dead roaches when all is said in done. Even the cockroaches which avoid the bait in the first instance will eat the dead or sick cockroaches which decided to consume the bait, resulting in a secondary kill. If that doesn’t happen, the roaches can even go so far as to consume the contaminated fecal droppings or vomit from dead roaches which ate the bait, thereby killing them as well.

More about German Cockroaches

Another reason which may make it so German cockroaches can withstand various insecticides is due to their rapid reproductive cycle which allows the roaches to quickly develop resistance to chemicals and avoid toxic ingredients. If a small segment of the roach population is able to avoid eating a poisonous insecticide or gel bait, those cockroaches would be able to reproduce in large numbers and carry over that resistance trait to their offspring..

An alarming statistic is that merely a single female roach and her offspring can produce up to 100 million roaches in a year. Female roaches only require the need to mate a single time to be able to lay eggs for the rest of their lives. If this population of roaches are averse to baits, then you have a large problem on your hands and will have a difficult time removing them. Apex Gel bait resolves the matter with its effective formula which guarantees a significant reduction of the cockroach population found in your home.

German cockroaches are a tough insect and among the most durable and toughest on the planet. Some cockroaches are capable for living up to a month without food and they can even stay alive even after losing their head for up to a week. Underwater they can survive more than 45 minutes so don’t think that they are done for if you’ve flushed them down the toilet.

Cockroaches have existed on our planet for nearly 300 million years, much longer than humans have-- and because of such they have been very resilient and adaptable to last so long. There are scientists who believe that cockroaches would be the only survivors in a nuclear war because of the fact that they have a much higher resistance to radiation than humans and other creatures.

Ever wondered why cockroach feces smell so strong and distinct? That’s because cockroaches leave chemical trails in their feces. These trails signal to other cockroaches where they have found sources of food, water and new places where the roaches can hide.

What’s perhaps the most alarming issue with cockroaches is their tendency to carry and spread disease. Cockroaches are known to spread a variety of disease-causing pathogens, including viruses and bacteria such as salmonella which can be a threat to you and your family’s health.

Is it effective against the large sewer roaches?
Candace on Jun 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We have a label for German roaches only. It used to include all roaches but recently the EPA made a change and we were required to label it only for german roaches. We hope to have a new label out by next year that will include all roaches for the same product.
If I put spots inside bathtub and sink overflow plumbing now, in May, will it still be effective in June, July and August? The roaches arrive from the sewer during hot humid weather.
