Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide, manufactured by Southern Agricultural Products, is a unique selective post-emergent herbicide specifically formulated to control trees, brush, and broadleaf weeds in pastures, non-crop areas, along fence lines, and other terrains.

It contains a powerful blend of two active ingredients. Triclopyr will targets woody plants, vines, and tough broadleaf weeds by disrupting plant growth while 2,4-D disrupts plant growth hormones. Together, these two ingredients create a powerful one-two punch against weeds that most standard lawn herbicides can’t handle such as dogwood, poison ivy, and sumac.

Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide is a heavy-duty, low volatile weed and brush herbicide that works deep into unwanted foliage for faster and confident results. Whether you’re a homeowner tired of poison ivy, a rancher managing pastures, or a land manager needing large-scale vegetation control, this product is a dependable, affordable, and highly effective choice.

Tools Needed

A handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, spray rig, or helicopter will be needed.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For spot treatments, use 4 to 6 fl. oz. of Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide in 3 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Do not make more than one application per year for rangelands and pastures. Do not make more than two applications per year for non-croplands. If a second application is needed, wait until 30 days have passed from the first treatment.

Where to Use

Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide can be used on rangeland, permanent grass pastures, conservation reserve program (CRP) acres, fence rows, nonirrigation ditchbanks, roadsides, other non-crop areas and industrial sites.

Do not use on bentgrass.

When to Use

Apply when plants are actively growing and have developed enough foliage to absorb the herbicide.

Do not use on newly seeded grasses until the grass has established a good root system and is tillering.

Do not reseed pastures within a minimum of three weeks after treatment.

Safety Information

Southern Ag Crossbow Specialty Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Except for lactating dairy animals, there are no grazing restrictions following application of this product. Do not allow lactating dairy animals to graze treated areas until the next growing season following application of this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until the sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

Do not spray pastures containing desirable broadleaf forbs, especially legumes such as clover, unless injury or loss of such plants can be tolerated. However, the stand and growth of established grasses usually is improved, particularly when rainfall is adequate and grazing is deferred.
