Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer
Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer is an effective, selective herbicide that targets and kills broadleaf weeds and brush in lawns, pastures, golf courses, and non-crop areas.
04/01/26
Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer, manufactured by Southern Agricultural Products, is a dependable and affordable selective herbicide concentrate that controls many broadleaf weeds and brush in crops, turf, rangelands, and more.
The active ingredient, 2,4-D, is one of the most dependable broadleaf control tools used in both agriculture and professional turf management. It works by imitating natural plant hormones (auxins), causing uncontrolled growth in susceptible plants. This leads to the weed's decline and death while leaving most turfgrass species unaffected.
Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer is a powerful, economical, and proven selective herbicide that maintains healthy turf and similar ornamental turf for experienced and beginning applicators. With an application rate of just 1 to 4 pints per acre, it delivers professional-grade weed control at one of the most economical cost-per-acre rates available.
Tools Needed
Applications can be done with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, boom sprayer, spray rig, or aircraft.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For spot treatments, mix 2 to 3 tablespoonfuls of Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer per gallon of water. To treat lawns, golf courses, cemeteries, parks, and similar ornamental turf, apply 6 1/2 tsp. of product per 3 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For pastures and rangelands, use 6 1/2 to 9 tsp. of product per 3 to 5 gallons of water per 1000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. If a second application is needed, retreat when 30 days have passed after the first application.
Where to Use
Southern AG 2,4-D Amine Weed Killer can be used in pastures, rangelands, lawns, golf courses, cemeteries, parks, and similar ornamental turf, for fences, ditchbanks, roadsides, industrial sites, grass seed crops, and small grains.
