Shutdown Herbicide
Shutdown Herbicide
Shutdown Herbicide is a potent tool designed to tackle unwanted vegetation in agricultural, industrial, and non-crop settings. With its robust formulation, this product offers effective weed control while minimizing harm to desirable plants and the environment.
Shutdown Herbicide manufactured by United Phosphorous, is a broad-spectrum herbicide formulated to control a wide range of weeds and grasses.
Its active ingredient, sulfentrazone, works by inhibiting the enzyme essential for plant growth, ultimately leading to the death of treated vegetation.
Shutdown Herbicide offers a reliable solution for controlling unwanted vegetation in various settings, from agricultural fields to various soil types.
Tools Needed
To use Shutdown Herbicide, you will need to use a spray rig or chemigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Shutdown Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Applications for fallow or post-harvest burndown with coarse soil textures containing less than 1.5% organic matter will use 3.0 - 3.75 fl. oz. of Shutdown Herbicide per 10 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Dilute the product with water according to the recommended mixing ratio provided on the label. Use clean water and a calibrated sprayer for accurate mixing.
- Step 3: Apply Shutdown Herbicide when target weeds are actively growing and at the appropriate growth stage. Adequate moisture (1/2" to 1") from rainfall or irrigation is required within 7 to 10 days after application; if it is not, a shallow incorporation may be needed to obtain desired weed control.
Where to Use
Shutdown Herbicide can be used for listed crop fields.
When to Use
Apply Shutdown Herbicide before crop seed germination to prevent injury to the emerging crop seedlings. Injury is possible if application is made when seeds are germinating or if they are located near the soil surface.
Safety Information
Shutdown Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not enter or allow others and pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Some crops have rotational intervals greater than 12 months after a Shutdown Herbicide application due to potential crop injury.
