Selontra Rodent Bait

Selontra Rodent Bait, manufactured by BASF, is an exceptional professional-grade rodenticide specially designed to tackle the toughest of rat and mouse infestations within a single formulation. 

Developed with the active ingredient Cholecalciferol 0.075%, this soft bait offers a faster and more effective way to control Norway rats, roof rats, house mice, anticoagulant-resistant rodents, and more within 7 days.  This chemical will work by disrupting the calcium balance in rodents, leading to a rapid and humane elimination. 

Unlike other traditional rodenticides, this SGAR bait works effectively on rats and mice resistant to conventional chemicals in bait offering more of an advantage in speed, safety, and environmental impact. Within 24 hours of consumption, the rodent will stop feeding on Selontra Rodent Bait allowing shorter baiting schedules and ensuring dominant species are taken out so other rodents can feed. 

Selontra Rodent Bait is a unique and fast-acting soft bait rodenticide that quickly reduces rodent infestations and ensures dead pests appear after 3 days from feeding. Its packaging ensures the bait remains attractive to rodents and continues to remain effective in various weather conditions as high as 177 degrees Fahrenheit and as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

How to Use

• Step 1: Before applying the bait, thoroughly inspect the area to locate signs of rodent activity. Determine areas most likely for these rodents to find and consume the bait. These areas typically are along walls, near gnawed openings or burrows, in corners and concealed places, and in other locations where signs of rats, mice, or meadow voles have been observed. Remove as many alternative food sources as possible to limit competition with the bait. To control house mice, load the bait station with 1-2 wrapped soft baits and then space each station 8-12 feet. To control Norway and roof rats, use 2-8 wrapped soft baits per bait station and space each bait station used 15-30 apart. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: Secure the bait in the stations by inserting the rod through the enhancement hole. This will ensure that rodents cannot take the bait out of the station and ensure they perish within the bait station being used. 
• Step 3: After initial bait placement, ensure an uninterrupted supply of bait is available for 15 days for mice or meadow voles and 7 days for rats. Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. If bait has been completely removed, replenish placements. Wearing water proof gloves, collect and dispose of all visible dead rodents and left over bait. Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and monitor them regularly.

Where to Use

Selontra Rodent Bait can be used indoors and outdoors within 100 feet of man-made structures or inside and around/outside of transport vehicles (aircraft, ships, trains, and trucks). 

Do not use this product in/near sewers or ventilation duct openings. 

When to Use

Use this rodent bait when you first notice rat and mice activity or when you have seen the pest itself.  

Safety Information

Selontra Rodent Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product. 

This product is toxic to fish, birds, and other wildlife. Dogs and other predatory and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon rodents or other animals that have eaten this bait.

Special Considerations

Do not broadcast bait or use without a tamper-proof bait station. 

The enhancement hole allows the bait to be adequately secured in bait stations, minimizing the risk of bait displacement by the rodents around the site. A warning dye and a bittering agent, Bitrex, also helps prevent human ingestion while not affecting palatability to target rodents.
