Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide, manufactured by AMVAC, is a flexible and broad-spectrum herbicide that controls multiple types of summer and winter weeds on warm-seasoned turf and landscape ornamentals.

This selective herbicide provides excellent control of a variety of difficult weeds like sedges, dollarweed, and more within 2 to 6 weeks after application.

Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide controls weeds all year-long with its active ingredient Imazaquin 70.0%, which kills broadleaf and grassy weeds by inhibiting the creation of amino acids needed for protein synthesis and growth.

Tools Needed

To apply Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide, you will need a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or a spray rig for large volume applications.

Do not tank-mix Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide with other post-emergence herbicides labeled for grass weed control in turf.

How to Use

Spot Application on Lawn

  • Step 1: Determine how much Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Apply 0.2 oz. to 0.26 oz. of Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide per 3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of warm-seasoned turfgrass and landscape ornamentals. For spot spraying on warm-seasoned turf and landscape ornamentals, use 0.5 oz. of product per 3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide, then pour in remaining half of water. Close the spray tank and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray the Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide solution to the top and bottom of listed weeds until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Irrigation or rainfall of 0.25 to 0.5 inches is suggested within 1-7 days after application to wash Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide into the shoot/root zone where greatest weed control activity occurs. Repeat applications may be necessary but do not apply a total of more than 0.75 lb. ai per acre annually.

Where to Use

Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide is for landscape ornamental and turfgrass use only on golf courses, parks, athletic fields, cemeteries, sod farms, commercial turf, and residential turf.

Warm-seasoned turfgrass such as bermudagrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, and zoysiagrass may be treated with this product.

Do not apply this product around food producing trees or vines, berry bushes or in vegetable gardens. Nor in field- or container-grown ornamental nurseries, in nursery liner, seedling or tree nurseries.

When to Use

Use Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide on well-established, non-stressed ornamentals (listed on product label) and warm-seasoned turfgrass. This product can be selectively used to control weeds anytime during the year except prior to and during transition from turfgrass winter dormancy.

Do not apply this product to bare ground areas of the landscape where new ornamental plantings (including annual bedding plants) will be installed within the year.

Safety Information

Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until 24 hours have passed after application.

Special Considerations

When the turfgrass is growing under marginal conditions, such as low temperatures, drought stress, compaction, etc., temporary yellowing or browning can occur and recovery may take 2-4 weeks after application of Scepter T&O 70 WDG Herbicide.
