Quinclorac 1.5L Select, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is a selective post emergent herbicide that can be safely applied to various types of cool-seasoned grasses such as Zoysiagrass within lawns surrounding residential and commercial establishments, multifamily dwellings, schools, and so on.

As a selective, this product delivers complete control over broadleaf and grassy weeds like clover without harming desired foliage. However, as a fast-control herbicide Quinclorac 1.5L Select can be applied 7 days before seeding and up to 28 days after weeds have emerged.

Quinclorac 1.5L Select, contains the active ingredient Quinclorac 18.92%, which helps to stunt weed growth resulting in reddening, leaf and stem curl or twisting, chlorosis, followed by necrosis and death.

Tools Needed

To apply Quinclorac 1.5L Select, you will need a backpack, handheld pump sprayer, or a spray rig for large applications. For consistent weed control, you may need to use a methylated seed oil product.

How to Use

• Step 1: Mow your lawn two days before or after application to help Quinclorac 1.5L Select maximize weed control and lessen turf injury. Determine how much Quinclorac 1.5L Select to use by calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To find this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre 43,560 (square footage / 43,560 = acre). The application rate for spot treatments is 1.45 oz. of Quinclorac 1.5L Select per 0.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For broadcast applications, use 64 oz. of product per 20 gallons of water per acre. You may add methylated seed oil at 0.55 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. or 1.5 pints per acre. Do not exceed 128 oz. of Quinclorac 1.5L Select per acre per year or 2.9 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. per year. 
• Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with the appropriate amount of water, then add the measured amount of Quinclorac 1.5L Select and methylated seed oil (if selected), and pour in the remaining half of water. Make sure the lid to your sprayer is closed and then shake the sprayer tank to ensure an even spray solution.
• Step 3: Spray the solution mixture on the top and bottom of weed leaves, but be cautious to not overlap with previous applications. Adjust the nozzle to a fan-spray setting to avoid drift and overlap during application. Once 24 hours have passed you may irrigate treated foliage with an 0.5 inches of water.

Where to Use

Quinclorac 1.5L Select may be applied to residential and commercial turf grasses, grounds or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, multifamily dwellings, military and other constitutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses, and sod farms.

This product should not be applied on golf course greens or collars.

When to Use

Use Quinclorac 1.5L Select when weeds are not under heavy stress from mowing or heat activity, and not treated with any other herbicides. To prevent turf injury, apply in the early morning when heat is not excessive and rainfall is not predicted within 24 hours after application.

Safety Information

Quinclorac 1.5L Select is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or mixing this herbicide.

Keep children, pets, workers, and other individuals out of the treated area for at least 24 hours.

Special Considerations

Quinclorac 1.5L Select will harm Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, dichondra, exposed ornamental and tree roots, ornamental beds, and lawns where desirable clovers are present.

Seedlings of Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, fine fescue blends and perennial ryegrass should not be treated within 4 weeks of emergence otherwise injury or death may occur.
