Quikstrike Fly Bait
Quikstrike Fly Bait
QuikStrike Fly Bait, manufactured by Star Bar Products/Zoecon, is a ready to use granular scatter fly bait that can be used against house flies within industrial, commercial, and agricultural settings.
This fast-acting fly bait contains 2 active ingredients Dinotefuran 0.50% and (Z)-9-Tricosene 0.04%. With Dinotefuran it kills nuisance flies quickly and controls those resistant to carbamates and pyrethrin sprays. Its other active ingredient (Z)-9-Tricosene helps to attract female and male flies and entice them to ingest the lethal fly bait.
Quikstrike Fly Bait quickly kills fly populations in a variety of low-level locations with its fast-acting formuation and can be used daily without risk of over-application. Unlike other fly baits, this product has larger granules allowing for easier identification in debris and treated areas as well as leaving behind more product to control flies.
Tools Needed
QuikStrike Fly Bait can be scattered in a secure area, or applied to a container or commercial fly bait station.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Quikstrike Fly Bait to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To find this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For scatter bait applications, Quikstrike Fly Bait can be applied at a rate of 1/4 of a pound per 500 sq. ft. For use in fly bait stations, place 2 oz. of product per bait station per 250 sq. ft. of area at least 4 feet above the ground.
- Step 2: When applying without a fly bait station, scatter the measured amount of QuikStrike Fly Bait granules onto desired locations making sure it is spread evenly on dry surfaces. Apply bait in several locations, concentrating on areas where house flies are a problem. It is best to avoid applying bait in windy areas as flies will avoid these areas. When paired with a fly bait station, you will need to follow the loading instructions of the selected fly bait station.
- Step 3: Reapply as bait is consumed to maintain control.
Where to Use
QuikStrike can be used may be used around the outside of milking parlors, broiler houses, kennels, canneries, beverage processing plants, meat and poultry processing plants, food processing plants and refuse dumpsters associated with these establishments and the walkways of caged layer houses. Do not use around commercial dumpsters which are not enclosed. May also be used in fenced or otherwise enclosed areas inaccessible to children and around the outside of restaurants, supermarkets, commissaries, and bakeries.
Do not apply where poultry or animals, especially dogs and young calves, can pick it up or lick it nor use it as a scatter bait indoors. This product can also not be used around commercial dumpsters which are not enclosed.
When to Use
Apply Quikstrike Fly Bait at the beginning of each season to help keep fly population low and manageable. It may also be used in the middle of an active infestation or where you have seen flies been a problem.
