Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Station
Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Station
The Protecta EVO Ambush bait station from Bell Laboratories is a great low-profile station to use in a rodent control program. Sized strategically to fit perfectly into tight baiting situations, the Protecta EVO Ambush stays low to the the ground, setting it up for a surprise attack to unsuspecting rodents while being safe to use around children and pets. Despite its low-profile, the Protecta EVO Ambush still has the room necessary for rat traps such as the Trapper T-Rex rat trap, for times when trapping is a necessary step. The Protecta Evo also comes conveniently with a key to open and lock the bait so you can easily service and clean the station when you need to.
Tools Needed
The Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Station does not require any tools but you will need a rodenticide bait or a snap trap to place into the station.
How to Use
- Step 1: First open the station using the key. Then remove the tray. Install the vertical rods in the designated holes located on the removable tray. It may be necessary to use a small hammer to lightly tap them into place.
- Step 2: Once the rods are installed, simply slide your bait of choice into place. Each rod can hold one big block. Make sure to always wear gloves when handling rodent bait.
- Step 3: Close the lid securely and place the station in an area where you have noted rodent activity.
Where to Use
The Protecta Evo Ambush Bait Station is small enough to be conveniently fit into tight baiting places under pallets, in cupboards or behind appliances. You can also use outdoors along the exterior walls of a structural foundation.
When to Use
Use bait stations whenever there is high rodent activity. Bait stations should always be used when deciding to bait or trap rodents outdoors for protecting non-intended targets.
Safety Information
This tamper-resistant bait station is safe to use around pets and children because it automatically locks when closed, protecting the bait from children and non-target animals. The RTU station comes with a key which quickly unlocks the device, reducing the time it takes to reapply bait. Make sure to wear protective safety gloves when handling rodenticide baits.
Special Considerations
The station can only be accessed once it has been opened with the key. The baffles keep bait and traps out of reach of children and non-target animals for peace of mind.
***Please note that you will receive 1 - key for every 6 stations purchased. ***

Q:how often do you need to refill food? In winter how would you place outside with all the snow?10/4/21A:II have a small log cabin in the central Wisconsin woods. In the summer of 2020 the cabin was washed; re-chinked/sealed. (A year or two before that the mice had chewed through and got into the cabin. I was not as diligent about checking the bait stations at that point.) At the end of last summer and this year I have been checking the 3 bait stations around the cabin every few weeks. I think it is especially important once the weather gets colder and mice start seeking shelter for winter. When you check -if you find the bait is all gone- then you need to check a little more frequently to keep them filled. During any period when there is no bait that is undoubtedly when the mice would make their move inside! By Thanksgiving, I think the mice have found their "winter homes." I did not check the stations last winter partly because I was not there much. (I probably should check them once a month from Dec-April.) No mice got into the cabin this past year. I am sure the new chinking helped but I have no doubt the bait stations contributed as well. My bait stations are under the eaves right next to the foundation so they do not get buried under the snow. That would be a problem for filling them. But as I say- despite my not checking them last winter- I had no mice this year. Mice can get through pretty tiny gaps as you probably know so you really need to address any possible points of entry as best you can in addition to using the bait stations.
