Prograss EC Herbicide
Prograss EC Herbicide is a powerhouse turf solution that delivers both pre- and post-emergent weed control, targeting various grassy and broadleaf weeds with precision. Perfect for cool-season, warm-seasoned lawns and overseeded areas, it ensures cleaner, stronger turf with season-long results.
01/02/26
Prograss EC Herbicide, manufactured by Envu, is an effective pre- and post-emergent herbicide against Poa annua and other invasive weeds all without wrecking desirable commercial turfgrass.
Its active ingredient, ethofumesate, works by inhibiting cell division in emerging seedlings, preventing them from establishing. It also has systemic action, which allows for early post-emergent control if the timing is right. And here’s what really sets it apart: Prograss is safe for cool-season turfgrass like perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and Kentucky bluegrass making it a rare gem among herbicides that actually control Poa annua without harming your turf.
Prograss EC Herbicide is a reliable, professional-grade herbicide that controls grassy and broadleaf weeds, prevents Poa annua, and plays well with cool-season and warm-seasoned turf, making it a smart, effective choice.
Tools Needed
You may use a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Prograss EC Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the turf, apply 1/2 to 1.53 gallons of Prograss EC Herbicide per 20 to 60 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the spray tank lid and shake until the solution is mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. A second application may be made 21 to 28 days after the first application.
Where to Use
Prograss EC Herbicide can be used on established perennial ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, turf-type tall fescue, St. Augustine grass, and dormant Bermudagrass.
It is intended for commercial use only on the ornamental turf of sites including golf courses, and sod farms.
When to Use
Apply before weeds appear or when they are present in your property.
