Premise 75 WP, manufactured by Bayer, is a professional grade termiticide that offers complete control of a wide variety of pests such as termites and carpenter ants whether indoors or outdoors.

This high-performance termiticide is formulated with the active ingredient imidacloprid 75.0%, which comes in a water soluble packet to make mixing simple. Unlike other termiticide products that simply repels termites from treated soil, this affordable product functions as a non-repellent by creating an undetectable treated zone. Once pests come into contact with Premise 75 WP material they will take it back to other colony members or into hard-to-reach areas for total elimination.

Premise 75 WP provides a broad and flexible label for various control efforts against pests, helping to save time and labor. Versatile enough to be used on the interior and exterior of residential and commercial buildings and indoors as a spot treatment to kill ants, making it an economical termiticide.

Tools Needed

To apply Premise 75 WP, a wheel barrow, shovel, mattock pick, or dirt removal tools are needed for use as a trenching method. A professional skid sprayer, sub slab injector, or handheld sprayer with the proper injector needle is needed. We recommend termite a tool kit that contains various tools for thorough treatments.

How to Use

Trenching

  • Step 1: Determine how much Premise 75 WP to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For a general termite treatment, use 0.5% concentrate dilution by mixing 1 packet of Premise 75 WP per 25 gallons of water. For exterior perimeter/interior spot treatments, apply 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth by mixing 2 packets of product per 25 gallons of water.
  • Step 2: To prepare the spray mixture, open the foil envelope and drop the required number of unopened clear water soluble packets of Premise 75 WP into the spray tank while filling with water to the desired level. Operate the agitator while mixing. Depending on the water temperature and the degree of agitation, the packets should be completely dissolved within a few minutes from the time they are added to the water. Cooler water temperatures increase the time needed for the inner packet to dissolve completely.
  • Step 3: Apply the mixed Premise 75 WP solution to the entire surface of the soil or other substrate to be covered by the slab for pre-construction basement treatments. Post-construction treatments for concrete slab-on-ground it may be necessary to drill through the slab or exterior foundation. Exterior perimeter treatments must be used only after post-construction is complete and after the final-grade is established. Once this is confirmed, apply a continuous treated zone around the entire exterior foundation wall of the building.

Where to Use

Premise 75 WP can be applied as a pre-construction, post-construction treatment, exterior perimeter treatment, or interior spot treatment, which will determine application sites.

Pre-construction applications: concrete slab-on-ground or basements, crawl spaces (along the inside and outside of foundation walls, around piers, interior supports in contact with the soil, plumbing, and utility services), and hollow-block foundations or voids.

Post-construction application: concrete slab-on-ground (treatment under the slab, including attached porches, carports, entrance platforms, garages and similar slab structures, all existing cracks and cold, construction or expansion joints. Also, treat around bath traps, plumbing and utility services which penetrate the slab), bath traps, crawl spaces, shallow foundations, basements (interior and outside perimeter), hollow block foundations or voids, and plenums.

When to Use

Apply Premise 75 WP as a preventative treatment against subterranean termites and other wood destroying insects before construction begins or is completed. It can be applied to control termites once termite activity has been identified.

Do not treat soil that is water-saturated or frozen, or in any conditions where run-off or movement from the treatment area (site) is likely to occur.

Safety Information

Premise 75 WP is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Keep children and pets away from treated areas until dry.

Special Considerations

Retreatment for subterranean termites can only be performed if there is clear evidence of reinfestation or disruption of the treated zone due to construction, excavation, or landscaping and/or evidence of the breakdown of the termiticide treated zone in the soil. These vulnerable or reinfested areas may be retreated in accordance with application techniques described in Premise 75 WP labeling. The timing and type of these retreatments will vary, depending on factors such as termite pressure, soil types, soil conditions and other factors which may reduce the effectiveness of the treated zone. Retreatment may be made as either a spot or complete treatment.

1 package of Premise 75 WSP contains 4 x 2.25 ounces water soluble packets.

Keith's Pro Tips"A great tool for detecting subterranean termites before they reach the home is the Red Eye Termite Monitoring Station. Insert the stations in the ground about 5 feet away around the perimeter of the house. When the red eye is no longer visible, it is time to apply termiticide right into the monitoring station, killing termites in their tracks."
Product DrawbacksPremise 75 WP cannot be used to eliminate imported or native fire ants, pharaoh ants or harvester ants. We recommend Supreme I/T or Bifen L/P for fire ant control.

Questions and Answers
  1. Q:Permimeter of ground was injected with Premise 6 years ago.  Pest control company says a retreatment is due every 7 years even though there has been no evidence of termites.  What does the manufacturer of Premise say?
    1/28/24
A:Sounds about right. Per the product label "When a structure is not known to be reinfested and the treated zone is not disturbed, but where the structure was last treated five or more years ago, retreatment may be performed if, in the judgement of the applicator, it is necessary to ensure adequate protection of the structure. In determining the timing of any retreatment, the applicator should consider efficacy and/or degradation data and/or site-specific conditions and previous experience that indicate a vulnerability of the structure to termite attack."
