Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is a cost-efficient termiticide/insecticide that removes pest populations around structures. Remains in treated soil for up to 10 years to kill termites and has a low 2 reapplication rate for the entire year for perimeter treatments.
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc., is a effective termiticide and insecticide that kills and repels termites for up to 10 years and other insect pests around structures for up to 90 days.
This product contains 9.1% Fipronil as its active ingredient, which provides effective results through the active's unique systemic transfer effect. As a non-repellent insecticide, pests like termites, ants, cockroaches, and other labelled insects will unknowingly come into contact with the insecticide and spread it to others in the nest through contact or food sharing for total colony elimination.
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is an efficient and durable professional-grade termitcide and insecticide that provides long-lasting termite and insect control.
Tools Needed
To use Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide, you will need a hand-held pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a professional spraying rig for large volume applications. To establish a complete exterior perimeter treatment, you may also need sub-slab injection equipment to drill and inject the product under concrete.
If using this product as a trenching solution, you will need a pickaxe or shovel to dig the trench and a bucket with at least a 5-gallon capacity to mix and apply the Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide mixture.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide you will need by measuring your treatment area in square feet by measuring the length and width in feet, and then multiplying them together (length x width = square feet). To control termites through trench treatments, measure the perimeter of the structure in feet. Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide can be mixed at a rate of either 0.8 fl. oz. per gallon of water, 1.2 fl. oz. per gallon of water, or 1.6 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This will give you dilution ratios of 0.06%, 0.09%, and 0.125% respectively. For most applications, we recommend using 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide per gallon of water for a 0.06% dilution ratio. For general exterior surface spraying, one gallon of product will treat about 1,000 square feet. For termite trenching, you will need 4 gallons of product dilution to treat 10 linear feet per foot of depth. For termite trenching applications, mix 0.8 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water in a bucket up to 4 gallons. We recommend using a 5 gallon bucket so that your solution will not be filled to the brim and you can avoid spilling product. To create a 4-gallon solution, you will need 3.2 fl. oz. of product (0.8 fl. oz. per gallon of water).
- Step 2: For exterior surface spraying with a one-gallon sprayer, fill your sprayer about a 1/4 of the way full with water. Then add the proper amount of Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide to the sprayer. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way to the one-gallon mark, close the sprayer and shake to ensure an even mix.
- Step 3: For exterior spraying, apply Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide as a low pressure, coarse spray. Spray up to an 18 inch wide band around common insect entry points, such as around doors, windows, vents, where plumbing and wires penetrate walls, and any other openings. Also treat the perimeter of the structure by spraying one foot up the structure and one foot out. For termite trenching applications, dig a trench around the structure's perimeter 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep. Hang on to the displaced dirt as it will be used to back fill the trench after application. It is helpful to create a dam with the soil within your trench every 10 feet to section off each 10 foot stretch since you will be applying 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet. Pour your finished Taurus SC solution in each 10 foot stretch of trench. Then back fill the trench with the displaced soil. Pack it down tight to ensure adequate distribution.
Where to Use
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is labeled for outdoor use only, with indoor use only permitted when there is an active ant or termite infestations found in wall voids.
This product can be used around building perimeters, injected under slabs, applied under crawl spaces, or on pre- and post-construction sites. For sub-slab treatment, this product can be applied to interior perimeters, hollow block foundations or voids.
When mixed as a foaming agent, the product can be applied in wall voids, filled stoops or porches, bases of fireplaces, into wall studs, block voids, and other areas that are difficult to access.
Do not apply within 15 feet of bodies of fresh water; lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, marshes, natural ponds and commercial fish ponds.

Q:My house has an active infestation of termites. I applied BioAdvanced Granules to the surface of the soil around the perimeter of the house and then learned that the soil is probably not porous enough for the granules to penetrate. I have read that the ingredients in the granules counter the main ingredient in Taurus SC. How long must I wait after applying granules to the ground surface before applying Taurus SC via the trench method?11/7/23A:Is there a more specific title? I am not seeing a product by that name on our website. Best thing to do is look to see what the latest reapplication rate is on the label. After that time interval has passed plus an additional 7 days just to be safe then apply Taurus SC Fipronil Termiticide.
