Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is a cost-efficient termiticide and insecticide that removes pest populations around structures and crawl spaces. It remains in treated soil for up to 10 years to kill termites and has a low 2 reapplication rate for the entire year for perimeter barrier applications.
09/21/25
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc., is an effective, non-repellant insecticide that kills and repels termites for up to 10 years when applied to the soil and other insect pests around structures for up to 90 days.
Taurus SC contains 9.1% Fipronil as its active ingredient, which provides effective results through the active's unique systemic transfer effect. As a non-repellent insecticide, target pests such as termites, ants, cockroaches, spiders, house crickets, and other labeled insect pests unknowingly come into contact with the insecticide and spread it to others in the nest through contact or food sharing for entire colony elimination.
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is an efficient and durable professional-grade termiticide and insecticide that provides long-lasting termite and insect control.
Tools Needed
For large-volume applications, you will need a handheld pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a professional spraying rig.
To establish a complete exterior post-construction treatment, you may also need sub-slab injection equipment to drill and inject the product under concrete.
If using this product as a trenching solution, you will need a pickaxe or shovel to dig the trench and a bucket with at least a 5-gallon capacity to mix and apply the Taurus SC Fipronil water-based suspension concentrate.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square feet). To control ants and termites through trench treatments, measure the structure's perimeter in feet. Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide can be mixed at a rate of either 0.8 fl. oz. per gallon of water, 1.2 fl. oz. per gallon of water, or 1.6 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This will give you dilution ratios of 0.06%, 0.09%, and 0.125%, respectively. For most applications, we recommend using 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide per gallon of water for a 0.06% dilution ratio. One gallon of the product will treat about 1,000 square feet for general exterior surface spraying. For termite trenching, you will need 4 gallons of product dilution to treat 10 linear feet per foot of depth. Mix 0.8 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water in a bucket of up to 4 gallons for termite trenching applications. We recommend using a 5-gallon bucket so that your solution will not be filled to the brim and you can avoid spilling the product. To create a 4-gallon solution, you will need 3.2 fl. oz. of product (0.8 fl. oz. per gallon of water).
- Step 2: For exterior surface spraying with a one-gallon sprayer, fill your sprayer about a fourth of the way full with water. Then, add the proper amount of Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide to the sprayer. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way to the one-gallon mark, close the sprayer, and shake to ensure an even mix.
- Step 3: For exterior post-construction application, apply Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide as a low-pressure, coarse spray. Spray up to an 18-inch wide band around common insect pests' entry points, such as around doors, windows, vents, plumbing and wires penetrating walls, crawl spaces, hollow masonry voids, and other openings. Also, treat the structure's perimeter by spraying one foot up the structure and one foot out. Dig a trench around the structure's perimeter 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep for termite trenching applications. Hang on to the displaced dirt, which will be used to backfill the trench after application. For entire colony elimination, creating a dam with the soil within your trench every 10 feet to section off each 10-foot stretch is helpful since you will be applying 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet. Pour your finished Taurus SC solution into each 10-foot stretch of trench. Then, backfill the trench with the displaced soil. Pack it down tight to ensure adequate distribution.
Where to Use
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is labeled for outdoor use only. Indoor use is permitted only when active ant or termite infestations are found in wall voids.
This product can be used for barrier applications around building perimeters, under slabs, under crawl spaces, or pre and post-construction sites. It effectively controls ants and other target pests when applied to interior perimeters, hollow block foundations, or voids for sub-slab treatment.
When mixed as a foaming agent, the product can be applied to hollow masonry voids, filled stoops or porches, fireplace bases, wall studs, and other difficult-to-access areas. For maximum effectiveness in treating the entire colony, ensure thorough application in all potential entry points and nesting areas.
Do not apply within 15 feet of bodies of fresh water, such as lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, marshes, natural ponds, and commercial fish ponds.
When to Use
Taurus SC Fipronil non-repellent insecticide should be used as a preventative treatment to keep termite infestations away or to eliminate active termite infestations in wood. It can be used for pre-construction treatment or post-construction treatment of a structure. Applications should not be made when raining or when the soil is saturated or frozen.
Safety Information
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is safe for children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Do not allow residents, children, other people, or pets into the treatment area until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Taurus SC Fipronil non-repellent insecticide is not for indoor use except when you want to control ants and active termite infestation in hollow masonry voids only
use except when there is an active termite and ant infestation in wall voids only.
