Polaris Herbicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a cutting-edge liquid post-emergent herbicide offering unmatched control over a broad spectrum of grasses, broadleaf weeds, unwanted emergent and floating aquatic vegetation, and numerous brush and vine species across diverse environments.

With it's exceptional formulation, Polaris Herbicide incorporates Imazapyr, a selective systemic herbicide that moves throughout plant tissue and prevents plants from producing a necessary enzyme, acetolactate synthase.

Polaris Herbicide is designed for both aquatic and terrestrial use making it an excellent broad label herbicide capable of tackling weeds in a variety of application settings.

Tools Needed

Polaris Herbicide can be applied using various methods, including aerial, chemigation system, pump sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Polaris Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. For terrestrial applications, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For aquatic applications, you will need to calculate the surface area acreage by measuring the length x width in feet to get square feet and dividing it by 44. For selective control of undesirable weeds in unimproved bermudagrass and bahiagrass you will use 6 to 12 fl. oz. of product per acre when the Bermudagrass is dormant, or 6 to 8 fl. oz. per acre after the bermudagrass has reached full green-up. Apply this product at 4 to 8 fl. oz. per acre when the bahiagrass is dormant or after the grass has initiated green-up but has not exceeded 25% green-up. For spot treatments in grass pastures and rangelands, use 2 to 48 fl. oz. of product in 15 gallons of water per acre.
  • Step 2: In a large container, add half of the required amount of water and then add the appropriate amount of Polaris Herbicide to the large container. Fill the container the rest of the way with the remaining half of water. Mix well and then pour into the sprayer tank.
  • Step 3: Apply Polaris Herbicide over the treatment area. Refer to label for reapplication and harvesting intervals as this will vary.

Where to Use

Polaris Herbicide is for control of undesirable vegetation growing within certain aquatic sites, forestry sites, pasture/rangeland, nonagricultural lands, establishment and maintenance of wildlife openings, release of unimproved Bermudagrass and Bahiagrass, bareground weed control, for use under certain paved areas, industrial noncropland areas including railroad, utility, pipeline and highway rights-of-way, utility plant sites, petroleum tank farms, pumping installations, fence rows, storage areas, non-irrigation ditchbanks including grazed or hayed areas within these sites, roads and transmission lines.

When to Use

Polaris Herbicide delivers the best results when targeted weeds are in green-up, but no more than 25% green-up.

Safety Information
