Pinpoint Fungicide
Pinpoint Fungicide is a precision fungicide that delivers powerful selective disease control that keeps turf healthy and vibrant while minimizing chemical use for sustainable, worry-free turf management.
11/04/25
Pinpoint Fungicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a highly specialized turf fungicide formulated to prevent and control foliar and soil-borne diseases in turf in golf courses, sod farms, residential lawns, and commercial lawns.
Its active ingredient is mandestrobin, which works by inhibiting spore germination and disrupting fungal respiration. What’s particularly notable is how well it controls dollar spot without compromising turfgrass quality or interfering with growth regulation.
Pinpoint Fungicide is a precision systemic fungicide developed with a new, exclusive active ingredient from Nufarm, offering highly effective control of dollar spot disease and more on turf. Its unique, selective activity makes it an ideal rotation partner in fungicide programs, helping prevent and manage resistance to common fungicide classes such as SDHI, DMI, benzimidazole, and dicarboximide. With excellent turf tolerance and strong performance against diseases like dollar spot, Pinpoint is a valuable addition to any resistance management strategy in professional turf care.
Tools Needed
You will need a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Pinpoint Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the disease, apply 0.275 to 0.31 fl. oz. of Pinpoint Fungicide per 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of turf. For foliar disease, apply 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For crown and root diseases, apply 2 to 4 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To make spot treatments, use 0.1 to 0.2 fl. oz. of product per 1 gallon of water. For broader treatments in turf, apply 12 to 13.5 fl. oz. of product per 87 gallons of water per acre.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until mixed. Apply Pinpoint Fungicide within 24 hours of mixing.
- Step 3: Adjust your sprayer nozzle to a fine mist, then walk at a steady pace to evenly cover the top and bottom of turf leaves. Spray to the point of wet, but not runoff. If you are using a spray rig or other boom equipment, spray at least 20 inches above the turf. Reapply when 14 to 21 days have passed from the first treatment.
- Step 4: Do not make more than two Pinpoint Fungicide applications without alternating to a non-Group 11 fungicide for resistance management. Do not make more than 4 applications of this product per acre per year.
Where to Use
Pinpoint Fungicide can be used on turfgrass in golf courses, lawns, and turfgrass in landscape areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, athletic fields, and sod farms.
When to Use
It works best when used preventively or at the very first sign of disease.
This product is rainfast 2 hours after application. Disease control may be reduced if rainfall occurs within 2 hours after application.
Safety Information
Pinpoint Fungicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not graze animals on treated areas for one year after application.
Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until the spray has dried.
Special Considerations
Due to the large number of turfgrass types, possible tank mixes and application techniques, it has not been determined if Pinpoint Fungicide can be safely used on all turfgrasses under all conditions. Before making a large scale application, determine safety in a small test area. Monitor the test area for at least 2 weeks to determine safety under local growing conditions.
