Pendulum 3.3 EC
Pendulum 3.3 EC
Pendulum 3.3 EC, manufactured by BASF, is a pre-emergent herbicide designed to control annual grasses and weeds before they can grow and keeping the area clear and healthy.
This product can control these pests in many areas such as over your turf and lawn, in ornamental gardens, in parking lots and jogging paths and many more.
When applied correctly Pendulum 3.3 EC will not cause turf injury so it is great to use over your crops and sell-able plants.
Tools Needed:
Pendulum 3.3 EC can be applied with a pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, hose end sprayer, boom sprayer, or a spray rig.
How to Use:
- Step 1: Determine how much Pendulum 3.3 EC to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For residential cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf, use 1.3 to 1.8 oz. of Pendulum 3.3 EC per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Acreage applications on residential cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf, apply 3.6 to 4.8 pints of product per 40 gallons of water per acre. To treat commercial and other non-residential turf that have cool-seasoned or warm-seasoned grasses, apply 1.3 to 2.6 oz. of product per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Acreage applications on cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf for commercial and non-residential turf will use 3.6 to 7.2 pints of product per 40 gallons of water per acre. Do not exceed a maximum of 4.8 pts of product per acre per application for use on residential turfgrass. Do not exceed a maximum of 7.2 pts of product per acre per application for use on commercial or non-residential turfgrass.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the amount of water, add the measured amount of Pendulum 3.3 EC, then pour the remaning half of water to the sprayer. Thoroughly agitate it until the solution is mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the mixed Pendulum 3.3 EC solution to the top and bottom of leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. After application, water the treated area with one-half inch of irrigation. If this product is not activated by rainfall or irrigation within 30 days, erratic weed control may result.
- Step 4: Reapply Pendulum 3.3 EC when 6-8 have passed after the first application for cool-seasoned turf and warm-seasoned turf. For extended goosegrass control, you can make an additional application when 8 weeks have passed after the second application.
Where to Use:
Pendulum 3.3 EC can be used in cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turfgrasses, ornamentals, landscape or ground maintenance, and non-cropland areas.
Do not apply this product in greenhouses, shadehouses or other enclosed structures.
When to Use:
Apply Pendulum 3.3 EC before weeds emerge which typically would be in the late summer or early fall. Applications should be done on listed foliage when they are well-established.
Safety Information:
Pendulum 3.3 EC is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets enter treated areas until 24 hours have passed after application.
Special Considerations:
Applications of Pendulum 3.3 EC made to overseeded warm-season turfgrasses may cause thinning or injury of the overseeded species.
Delay reseeding or winter overseeding of treated turfgrass for at least three (3) months following the last product application. Delay sprigging turfgrass for five (5) months after application.

Q:I need a pre-emergent for crabgrass in a small field of turf that is made up of brome, rye and orchard grass. Is this product safe for those kinds of grass?10/26/21A:Pendulum 3.3 EC can be used on ryegrass, but is not labeled to be used on brome and orchard grass. It would be best to test on a small area of turf to observe for potential damages. Large applications of Pendulum 3.3 EC on these untested turfs can lead to plant injury.
