Pendulum 2G
Pendulum 2G
Pendulum 2G, manufactured by BASF, is a quality pre-emergent granular herbicide that will control many common broadleaf and grassy weeds like crabgrass, sandbur, and more.
With its granule formulation and active ingredient pendimethalin 2.)%, this pre-emergent herbicide successfully prevents more than 40 types of broadleaf and grassy weeds from germinating without harming ornamental foliage.
Using Pendulum 2G before the growing season will keep many notorious weeds from germinating on your land. It is economically priced and can last you for years as a low rate is needed to cover most typical lawn applications.
Tools Needed:
Pendulum 2G is a granular herbicide, so it should be applied using a mechanical or broadcast spreader. For home use, a hand or push spreader is recommended. It also needs to be watered in after application if rainfall can not be expected, so a sprinkler can be helpful.
How To Use:
- Step 1: Identify what weeds you wish to control and what areas they are in. Calculate the square footage area you wish to apply to as this will determine how much Pendulum 2G needs to be applied. You can do this by measuring and multiplying the area length times the width (length x width = square footage) The rate on the Pendulum 2G label is 2.3 to 4.6 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. or 100 to 200 lbs. per acre in ornamentals. Prior to application, make sure there are no established weeds in the area. Remove them or apply a post-emergent herbicide before applying the Pendulum 2G.
- Step 2: Pour the required amount of Pendulum 2G into your spreader based on your calculations and apply an even coating to the desired area. Be sure not to overlap so that there isn't a larger concentration in one particular area.
- Step 3: Water the treated area after application if adequate rainfall cannot be relied upon. This will ensure the product is activated properly.
- Step 4: Reapply Pendulum 2G as needed. Follow label instructions for proper application rates as they can vary depending on the season and depending on what types of weeds you wish to control.
Where to Apply:
Apply Pendulum 2G over your turf and ornamental gardens. This product can be used around the home or in large scale instances such as around railroads, parking lots, vacant lots and more. Refer to the label for a full list of applicable sites.
When to Apply:
Pendulum 2G Granular Herbicide is a pre-emergent herbicide which means it only kills the weeds that have not sprouted and germinated. Apply this product before the weeds have grown to prevent them before the season starts. This time frame can vary depending on your climate, and what types of weeds you wish to prevent.
Safety Information:
Pendulum 2G is safe to use around pets and children when applied according to label directions. Always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling, measuring, and applying this product. Do apply the granules in areas where they can be washed away in runoff, such as driveways and concrete sidewalks. Sweep the product back into the desired areas to prevent runoff.
Special Considerations:
Pendulum 2G will not kill weeds that have already sprouted and are established. If there are established weeds in the area it is necessary to remove them or apply Pendulum 2G with a post-emergent herbicide. Some types of grasses and plants may be sensitive to the active ingredient of Pendulum 2G, so read the label before application to ensure your plants are not injured from the application.
