OH2 Ornamental Herbicide
OH2 Ornamental Herbicide
OH2 Ornamental Herbicide, manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizers, is a cost-efficient and effective pre-emergent herbicide of weeds in container and field grown ornamentals without leaving behind high levels of dust residue.
Combines two selective herbicides into one granule, giving professionals nursery owners a wider range of control against weeds like oxalis and better ornamental tolerance to product usage.
OH2 Ornamental Herbicide great combination of ingredients provides season-long control against hard to control weeds with a single application, helping to minimize consistent applications and reduce overall labor.
Tools Needed
Apply OH2 Ornamental Herbicide with a properly calibrated rotary spreader that will assure accurate, even particle distribution. Product can also be applied by aerial equipment.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before each OH2 Ornamental Herbicide application, remove any existing weeds with a post-emergent herbicide. Determine how much OH2 Ornamental Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For individual ornamental container applications the rates will vary based on container size and surface area. To treat 1 gallon containers (6” diam.) with a 0.20 sq. ft. surface area use 1/8 tsp. of OH2 Ornamental Herbicide. For 2 gallon (9” diam.) containers with 0.44 sq. ft. surface area use 1/4 tsp of product. For 3 gallon containers (10" diam.) with a 0.55 sq. ft. surface area use 1/4 tsp. of product. For 5 gallon containers (12" diam.) with 0.79 sq. ft. surface area use 1/4 tsp. of product. For 15 gallon containers (17" diam.) with 1.60 sq. ft. surface area use 1/2 tsp. of product. For field grown ornamentals, apply 2.3 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Load the measured amount of OH2 Ornamental Herbicide into the properly calibrated spreader.
- Step 3: Spread the OH2 Ornamental Herbicide across dry foliage as an over the top or soil directed application. Water in with 1/2-1 inches of irrigation immediately after application to wash the particles off the plant foliage and to activate the herbicide.
Where to Use
Apply OH2 Ornamental Herbicide to dry foliage or soil within container and field grown ornamentals in nurseries and landscape ornamentals.
Not for use on vegetables, bedding plants, liner production beds, flowers, ground covers, vegetables, and turf.
Do not incorporate product into soil or potting media nor apply product directly to bare roots.
When to Use
OH2 Ornamental Herbicide may be applied when plants are well established, dry, and there are no emerged weeds and when temperatures are above 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
Do not apply while plants are producing a new flush of spring growth. Tender, newly forming leaves are especially sensitive and may be injured by the herbicide. Do not use on fruit trees that will bear fruit within one year of application.
