Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide
Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide is a fast, long-lasting granular insecticide that controls pests in turf, ornamentals, and landscapes with proven preventive and curative performance at low use rates.
04/01/26
Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a reliable imidacloprid-based granular insecticide that delivers quick, systemic protection from within the plant, offering broad-spectrum, long-lasting control of grubs and other turf and ornamental pests.
Instead of relying on surface coverage, this product works within the plant’s vascular system, delivering control where pests feed. This makes it especially effective against root-feeding insects like grubs. With more than a ten-year record of 90% effectiveness across virtually every species of turf and ornamental pests, Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide has a reputation you can trust.
Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide is an effective systemic granular insecticide that provides a curative and preventive solution, which makes it invaluable for maintaining healthy, pest-free turf and ornamentals year-round. With its low use rates, preventive and curative power, and long-lasting systemic control, it has earned its reputation as one of the most reliable tools in professional pest management.
Tools Needed
A drop spreader or rotary spreader will be needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For turf, apply 1.8 pounds of Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide per 1,000 sq. ft. or 80 lbs. of product per acre. To treat ornamentals, use 1.4 to 1.8 pounds of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Calibrate the spreader to the proper setting then load the correct amount of granules.
- Step 3: Prior to application, remove black plastic or other weed barrier materials that inhibit water permeability. Apply evenly over the turf or soil surface. For nursery grown ornamentals, apply as a uniform band on either side of planting rows using a band six inches wider than the actual root ball diameter to be dug. Do not allow bands in adjacent rows to overlap. Irrigate moderately after application to move the active ingredient into the root zone.
Where to Use
Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide can be used in landscape, nursery, greenhouse ornamentals, and turfgrass.
When to Use
Apply when insect activity is noticed, such as thinning turf or visible pests. You can also apply it before pests become active.
If you do not plan to irrigate yourself, then time application when rainfall is expected to occur within the next 24 hours after application.
