Dominion 2L Insecticide, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc., is a broad-spectrum insecticide and termiticide designed to control various crawling, flying, and wood-destroying insects upon application.

This product's active ingredient is imidacloprid 21.4%, which provides an undetectable insect barrier that lasts up to three months. As a systemic insecticide, it kills nuisance insects by working through plants' foliage and root systems.

Use Dominion 2L Insecticide to combat subterranean termites and various wood- and plant-damaging pests in your yard or home. Additionally, its highly versatile ingredient poses no phytotoxicity to ornamentals and offers a low dilution rate for high-yield results.

Tools Needed

You will need to use a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or skid sprayer. It can also be used as a termite trenching application. Appropriate digging tools, such as a shovel or pickaxe, are needed.

How to Use

Treating Bushes with Dominion 2L

  • Step 1: Determine how much Dominion 2L Insecticide you need by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For general-purpose turf applications, you can apply 0.46 to 0.6 fl. oz. of Dominion 2L Insecticide in a gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for more specific application rates. So, for example, if you calculated a 3,000 sq. ft. area for treatment, you would need to mix 0.9 to 1.8 fl. oz. of Dominion 2L in 3 gallons of water.
  • Step 2: Begin filling your sprayer tank with half a gallon of water. Shake the concentrate well before adding the correct amount of Dominion 2L. Fill the spray tank the rest of the way with water and then agitate the sprayer. When the product is well-mixed, you are ready to spray.
  • Step 3: Spray the Dominion 2L solution evenly on areas where treatment is needed. Indoor applications should be limited to spot treatments. Reapply when needed. Use a fan nozzle spray setting for uniform coverage.

For Termite Treatment:

  • Step 1: Dig a trench 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep around a home foundation.
  • Step 2: Pour the appropriate amount of Dominion 2L Insecticide into the trench at the labeled rate of 4 gallons per linear 10 feet. The Insecticide can be diluted and mixed in a professional spray rig or a heavy-duty 5-gallon bucket at a rate of 2.4 fl. oz. per 4 gallons of water.
  • Step 3: Allow the Dominion 2L insecticide mixed solution to travel and seep into the trench before backfilling with dirt that should also be treated with the Dominion 2L mixture.

Where to Use

Lawn Broadcast Treatment with Dominion 2L

Dominion 2L Insecticide can be used on turfgrass (including landscape ornamentals, fruit and nut trees, and interior plantscapes) in home lawns, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields.

This product can be used on ornamentals such as trees, shrubs, evergreens, flowers, foliage plants, and ground covers in commercial and residential landscapes and interior plantscapes.

When used for termite control, Dominion 2L Insecticide may be used in and along the outside perimeter of structures and building construction. Structures that contain wells or cisterns within the structure's foundation can only be treated using the treated backfill method in the treatment around wells and cisterns section of this label.

For pre-construction termite treatment, apply this product on concrete slab-on-ground or basements, crawl spaces, hollow block foundations, and voids. For post-construction termite treatment, use this product on concrete slab-on-ground, bath traps, crawl spaces, shallow foundations, basements (outside and inside the perimeter), hollow block foundations, voids, plenums, and around wells or cisterns.

Do not apply this product on sod farms. Not for use in commercial greenhouses, nurseries, or on grass grown for seed, or on commercial fruit and nut trees.

When to Use

It is recommended that Dominion 2L Insecticide be applied quarterly for continual control as a barrier, spot, and cracks and crevice treatment. Dominion 2L must be used before the flowering season or after flower petals have fallen off to avoid killing bees and other pollen-carrying insects. When used strictly for termite treatments, Dominion 2L Insecticide can only be applied by Certified Professional Applicators.

Do not make applications when turfgrass areas are waterlogged or the soil is saturated with water.

Safety Information

Dominion 2L Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not graze treated areas or use clippings from treated areas for feed or forage.

Keep children and pets off the treated area until dry.

Special Considerations

Dominion 2L Insecticide is highly toxic to bees and other pollen-carrying insects. Spray areas when pollen-carrying insects are not harvesting or when flowers are not blooming. Always check the label before applying the product to plants, as some plants take longer to absorb the product.

For crops not listed on an imidacloprid label or for crops for which no tolerances for the active ingredient have been established, a 12-month plant-back interval must be observed.

Dominion 2L Insecticide
Easy to use. I spray along the perimeter of the house .
Works great! Keeps the insect at bay.
great!
finally after 4 years we have found something to get rid of our clover mites!!
Met my needs!
I have been battling mole crickets in my centipede lawn for several years. These little critters have been causing havoc to my lawn, shrubs and trees. I will continue to retreat whenever I see signs of damage. For this summer though (2024); I plan to treat ever 30 to 60 days to try to make sure I disrupt their reproductive cycle.
Does the job! My lawn at this time has nearly made a full recovery.

It’s alright
It has killed a lot of June bugs or Japanese beetles. However I still have some. I hope that continuously using this product it will work and eradicate these damn bugs.
It Works!
I have been battling mole crickets for years. Applied and watered in per label instructions. In less than two weeks, the areas of my centipede lawn that had mole cricket damage are making a great recovery. Due to their life/mating cycle I will have to treat a few times this summer. Worth every penny!

Used for Dominion 2L systemic treatment of aphids on crepe myrtle, I got excellent results by just spreading liquid mix around base of trees, per directions.
easy to mix with water to recommended dilution and instructions gave precise concentration for needs.
had to keep soil around tree watered for a week, not really a problem at all.

Don't know yet.
I have applied two applications on the leaf cutter mounds, but now since the last rains we had, I have about 4 times as many mounds as I did. They moved away from the mounds that I sprayed, but have made more new ones. I am not really sure if it is working or not.

A:Apply Dominion 2L as a foliar application to flower, shrub or ornamental plant beds adjacent to the structure where ants may find food or forage. To control ants tunneling in soil apply a 0.05% to 0.1% solution as a drench or soil injection at intervals to establish a continuous treated zone. Treat along the edge of walls, driveways or other hard surfaces where ants are tunneling beneath the surface.
