NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent
NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent is a powerful, professional granular repellent that safely deters geese, coots, and other grazing birds near lakes, ponds, golf tees, turf, and more using a rain-resistant, eco-friendly formula.
11/02/25
NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent, manufactured by Nature's Mace, is a reliable and safe granular repellent designed to repel and relocate geese, coots, and other grazing birds safely and effectively by turf managers, homeowners, landscapers, and property maintenance crews.
Its unique dual-action formula works by targeting the birds’ senses specifically, their taste and smell, which disrupt their feeding and nesting patterns. Rather than harming birds, this repellent conditions them to avoid treated areas altogether, effectively training them to relocate. Once applied, the granules release natural aromatic compounds and flavors that geese, coots, and other birds find unpleasant. Over time, they learn that turf is no longer a desirable grazing or nesting area and move elsewhere.
NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent is an excellent EPA-exempt behavioral training tool that conditions geese and other unwanted birds to leave your property alone, all while being completely safe for the environment. Each 22-pound bag covers up to 8,000 square feet, offering excellent coverage for both small and large properties.
Tools Needed
A handheld spreader, push spreader, or broadcast spreader will be needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). Each pound of NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent covers 350 square feet. A full 22-pound bag covers up to 7,500 square feet.
- Step 2: Adjust the spreader to the largest open setting, then load the correct amount of granules.
- Step 3: For Lawns, Open Areas, Fairways: Apply where geese are landing, geese will usually land in the same areas and begin eating and grazing. For Lakesides & Pond Edges: Apply along the water's edge where geese are exiting and entering lakes & ponds. Cover the entire area plus 10 feet beyond where the geese traffic and grazing pattern are noticed. For Golf Tee's and Fringes: Cover the tee areas & the sides of the tees. Apply around the greens on the fringe areas (being careful not to put on the greens). For walkways, curbsides: Apply along the dripline or edge where grass meets pavement.
- Step 4: Repeat application when 14 days have passed from the first treatment.
Where to Use
NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent can be used for lawns, open areas, fairways, lakeside edges, pond edges, golf tees and fringes, and along the dripline or edge where grass meets walkways, and curbsides.
When to Use
For best results, time your applications according to goose, coots, and grazing bird behavior patterns.
Spring marks the start of nesting season, when geese select nesting sites and lay eggs. Apply this product early to discourage geese from choosing your property as a nesting area. Preventing nesting is far easier than relocating established flocks later.
Safety Information
NM Professional Goose Granular Repellent is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
Special Considerations
This product will not hurt the greens, but the granular formula makes it difficult to putt on.
