Nitrophos Weed & Feed (Trimec)
Nitrophos Weed & Feed with Trimec is a quick-release fertilizer that controls broadleaf and other common weeds while fertilizing and feeding your lawn.
Nitrophos Weed & Feed with Trimec, manufactured by Nitrophos, is a specialized lawn care product designed to simultaneously nourish your turf and combat a broad spectrum of weeds.
The fertilizer boasts a 15-5-10 NPK ratio, providing 15% Nitrogen for vigorous growth, 5% Phosphorus for strong root development, and 10% Potassium to enhance disease resistance and overall plant health. Targets emerged broadleaf weeds like chickweed, poison ivy, wild geranium, and more without harming desired grass species, preserving lawn integrity.
Nitrophos Weed & Feed with Trimec offers a convenient and effective solution for homeowners seeking to enhance their lawn's health while controlling unwanted weeds. Its balanced nutrient profile, combined with a potent herbicide, ensures that your turf remains vibrant, beautiful, and free from weeds.
Tools Needed
You will need a hand or push spreader, but we recommend a broadcast spreader for the best results.
How to Use
- Step 1: Mow your lawn to its normal height 1 to 2 days before application. Determine how much Nitrophos Weed and Feed you need by first measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To find this, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). Apply 3.2 to 4.0 pounds of Nitrophos Weed & Feed With Trimec per 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass. The maximum broadcast application rate is 4.0 pounds of product per 1,000 sq. ft. per application. The maximum number of broadcast applications is limited to 2 per year with a minimum of 30 days between each application.
- Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the right spreader setting for application and load the granules into the spreader. The label should provide you with the proper calibration recommendation.
- Step 3: Push the spreader from one side of the lawn to the other, ensuring an even spread. This may take about two perpendicular passes on your lawn.
- Step 4: Water the lawn a day or two after the application to help the product seep into the soil and stick to the weed leaf surface to control weeds.
- Step 5: Conduct a follow-up application after 30 days to ensure the correct amount of nitrogen is put down.
Where to Use
Nitrophos Weed and Feed can be used on home lawns containing Kentucky bluegrass, fescues, perennial ryegrass, bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, St. Augustinegrass, Bahiagrass, and centipedegrass.
Do not use dichondra or Floratam St. Augustine grass.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are young and actively growing, preferably in the morning when dew is on the grass. If the grass is not moist at the time of application, sprinkle lightly with water to hold the material and prevent dust drift onto non target plants.
Safety Information
Nitrophos Weed and Feed With Trimec are safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying and handling this product.
Special Considerations
